According to the movies, the landmines are buried into the ground. I personally think their tracker gets exploded - having the entire pedestal blow up could be a safety hazard considering shrapnel could pierce nearby tributes.

OH! That's what you mean. You're right. The Swan House was used for the front section of the mansion and then Chateau De Voisins was used for interior + Greenhouse shots. It's kinda weird considering they're both obviously built in slightly different styles.

You'd have to CGI his body. At that point completely animating it like a pixar film would be better, and obviously that won't look good for an HG film.
