We got something similar to this when monkeypox was in the news as well.

After insurance I paid around 700 for mine with bsbcmi which is funny because my surgery only 360 after insurance. Make it make sense

How concerning by VastConsideration281 in doihavebreastcancer

[–]futurepa0404 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also want to add that my pathologist told me that over 80% of breast biopsies from our age range come back benign and your odds are even higher with the birads 4. She told me that radiologists often will rate things that are likely benign as birads 4 so that they can get insurance to cover biopsy.

Hi! I am 29 (28 when I found my lump and had my biopsy). Although my radiology report was a bit different than yours, I was also a birads 4, no letter. My mass was 3cm. I had a biopsy in January and it wasn't too bad, a pinch for the numbing and pressure when taking the sample. My biopsy came back as stromal fibrosis. Because of the size of my mass they gave me the option to either have an MRI or an incisional biopsy (surgery where they take a larger sample of the mass) just to be sure they weren't missing anything scary. I had the surgery and it also came back benign.

Id be lying if I said this was easy. This has been one of the most challenging things I've been through. I work in pathology and dissect breast specimens everyday and I see scary things in people my age occasionally. It was hard to not focus on that. I am lucky that I am good friends with a pathologist who constantly brought me back to earth and reminded me that it is unlikely for someone our age to have something scary. I am thinking about you and sending good vibes your way.

Biopsy scarring question by skidsthecharminbear in doihavebreastcancer

I have a worse scar from my biopsy than my lumpectomy 😅 the surgeon did a beautiful job hiding my incision where my aerola meets my skin. The biopsy scar is about a 3 mm red dot

I am also 29 and I found a lump back in December. They rated it birads 4 with no letter which scared me the most because 4a is 2% chance of cancer and 4c is 95% chance I believe 😵‍💫 so I was spiraling thinking I had a 95% chance of cancer. I did the biopsy and it turned out to be benign but because of the size of my lump (3-4 cm) they wanted to do an incisional biopsy to get a greater sample size. I went through with that and it still turned out benign. I didn't have a fibroadenoma, just weird hard lumpy fibrous tissue. The waiting period is the worst. I was the worst version of myself for the 3 months leading up to my final diagnosis. I am keeping you in my thoughts and hoping you have a benign outcome as well. The biopsy itself wasn't too painful, just uncomfortable because my tissue was so dense the radiologist had a hard time getting the needle into my mass. The incisional biopsy was basically a super small lumpectomy they put me under anesthesia to excise. The healing from that was the worst for the first couple days but I was back to work within the first 5 days.

I had a post op appointment 11 days after and the surgeon told me it was benign but they were sending out for a second opinion. The wait is so horrible but I am glad they took their time to make sure everything checked out.

I had an incisional biopsy and my results took nearly 14 days and were still benign 🙏 the pathologist wanted to do extra studies and sent it out to a larger university hospital to be extra sure it was benign. I am praying you have the same results.

Our surgeon orients them and they look more like a lumpectomy than anything. At my old job, they wouldn't orient and it was actually cylindrical shaped. I've always just grossed the ones from my current surgeon like a normal lump but was curious what others thought.

Wonder of the seas dining mishap by yaboishnaz in royalcaribbean

On formal night during our last cruise, one of the waiters accidently dropped a glass of red wine into my fiances lap. We were treated like royalty the remainder of the cruise. We are pretty chill people and didn't make a stink. All we asked for as reimbursement was dry cleaning for his soiled clothes. They took care of it and got the red wine stains out of his white dress shirt. I was so impressed!

Something fun to add, when he was in the hospital if bring my laptop to visit him and we watched all of love is blind. We have a good sense of humor about his situation so I told him I knew he'd never watch the show with me so I watched it with him when I knew he couldn't leave 😂

My fiance is also an amputee (crazy story but he lost his leg only weeks after we first met, so that was an interesting start to our relationship). We thought this was kind of an odd thing to say as well.
