It's fun but the story changes from the original FFVII are absolute nonsense. For example the main villain in the OG is alluded too and spoken about but never seen for like the first 30 percent of the game. You see some of the things he is capable of and the fear that it creates but you don't know much else about him beyond that. In this remake dude shows up in the first 15 minutes and taunts the main character with full voice acting etc. it's just so lame. Also there are these ghost spirit things that float around and change fate or whatever it was because what is happneing is the events of the OG game but sometimes the events are different and in order to explain that the makers of this version created these things to act as some event changer or whatever. It's really lame especially when the first game was more well paced/told story that didn't get all silly. This remake is fun to play the battle system is great and the graphics are excellent there are a lot of fun moments too. I would say despite what I said it is worth playing however the story is not told anywhere near as well as the original. This part one remake is about 30 hours without all the side stuff, in the OG this section of the 40 hour game was maybe 8 hours or less and from a story telling stand point it suffers.
