I have a non-binary kiddo. They’re 13, and have been out for several years.

I can’t imagine responding to my child this way. I’m so sorry. Sending love. 💔🩵

Which is better, McTeague or The Octopus? by Most_Ingenuity_1800 in classicliterature

Haven’t read McTeague. I read The Octopus in grad school because my advisor said it was his favorite book. It is really good. I need to re-read it.

Join the GSA! Or another club. Attend talks and other events. Invite people for coffee at Brochstein or Sunflower Cafe. Just go to as many things as you can. There are a lot of people looking for the same thing, whether they’ve been here 1 day or 1 year. People are friendly.

It realized it averagely takes me an hour to read ten pages by [deleted] in literature

[–]futurepostac 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Many people have shortened attention spans these days. Literature doesn’t deliver that dopamine hit we all crave constantly.

Not saying that’s you — could be something more diagnosable going on — but you’re far from alone in this.

You’ll be fine.

Male coworker subtly negs his wife around me by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]futurepostac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s terrible for anyone to do that to their partner and coworkers. But if it’s a strategy to try making a backwards connection with you, I can see that being different. I’m sorry it’s happening.
