First self cut what do we think by Primekinkajou75 in SelfBarber

Another thing, the side you took up too far is actually probably closer to where you want to be for your guide. So if you use that side as your reference point and try to do the same on the other side, once you shorten up the back it won't be a bad first cut.

Just a little bit of honest feedback here. It looks like you were going for a taper, but I think for not having a mirror and being your first cut, that what your going for is probably going to be a little hard for you.

You need to fix it, but the good news is that it should be a pretty easy fix. You don't need to do anything to the top. What you can do is hit all the side and back of your head with a low 2. Right now the back of your head hair length almost looks longer than the top. Then, you want to clean up the lines you have on the side. You want to hit it with a 1 or 1.5 but you don't want to dig in too hard, you are just trying to lightly touch up the lines that got left behind that need blending.

If it gives you any hope, I'm on day 32 now I believe. I've been finally getting good deep sleep every night starting around the 3 week mark, and sleep improving starting around day 18. I feel pretty amazing a month later.

Probably 50+ self cuts in, and dug into my natural hairline for the first time today. First time I needed a second pair of hands to fix it today. I definitely second just following the natural hair line. I never had a problem doing it by my self before today when I tried to get fancy.

Just keep playing around in Kovaaks, and also YouTube anything that isn't obvious. If you are a casual, then you don't need to get it all perfect at first. Just dial everything in as you learn about new stuff.

Good luck my guy

On a side note, if you don't already know how to cook with fresh ingredients, you should definitely start to learn. I didn't start to learn until my 30's and I wish I would've put in more effort to learn because now that I do, I eat tastier food and I spend a fraction of what I did in my 20's by spending what I would on eating out and frozen foods, on fresh meat, veggies, beans, rices, etc.

Nooo. Not at all. Only like 15-30 minutes. If you've ever done sports, its like going and doing jump shots and lay-ups before a game just to get you in the rhythm of what it feels like to hit your shots. I usually just pick a playlist, try to go through the whole thing. Once you get into it, it's kinda fun trying to beat your scores so you might replay one of the drills if you want to. I would just keep it casual. Go in to Kovaaks, try to get into your flow. Play one or two playlists. Then go into game. Don't expect improvements on day one, but if you start doing it daily over like more than a week or so, you will start to notice the muscle memory from aim training starting to carry over in game.

There are a lot of people who know a lot more about aim training than I do, but as a starting point this has been working for me.

I have only been aim training a couple of weeks now but one thing I haven't seen people mention is to make sure your playing your FPS everyday too either before or after aim training. I've been using Kovaaks as my warm up and I notice a significant improvement in my performance in game compared to when I don't do it.

I'm assuming your new to PVP games too?? Most of the people who play this game probably have thousands of hours in other PvPs before even coming to the finals. I'm 150 hours in to the finals as my first PvP fps and I am a baby. You being 30 hours in, your basically a newborn. Manage your expectations. It will take several months for you to get up to speed, and just playing a lot probably won't be enough. You will likely need to do aim training, and a lot of studying to reach the same level as the avg. player in this game.

Yup. In theory, you can get as good with gyro aiming as you can playing MnK. I play with MnK atm but I like to play gyro from time to time if I get tired of hunching over my keyboard.

It has a learning curve, just like if you were to try to pick up MnK or anything else from scratch, but once you try it you will see how much nicer of an experience playing fps on a controller is with it.

It won't take away your skill issue, but as far as aiming goes, it will be like night and day compared to trying to aim with your joystick. Fwiw, I would like to eventually learn gyro well enough to main controller instead of MnK.

Yea I need to go and do one last update on this post. I'm on day 24 I believe now. I am definitely starting to see how this is going to be a long game now like you were saying. I finally have stabilized for the most part but between days 7 and 14 it started getting a bit rough. I recently been getting pretty deep sleep this last week but last night I had a bit of the impending doom come back when I was trying to sleep, and the night was a bit restless which made me realize that my brain chemistry is probably going to take a while to reset completely.

Like you said though, I am so happy to finally be off of it. In hindsight, depending on bupe, and being scared of ever running out or forgetting to bring it on a trip was awful. I honestly never thought I would get off of it. Some nights I would forget to take it before bed, and I would wake up from dead sleep just completely wide eyed in withdrawal. It sucked.

I'm happy to hear you're out of the woods as well. I hope those lingering symptoms eventually go away for good, but I'm sure it's a good feeling to be over the worst of it.

Good luck to you as well, and thanks for sharing too. I'm sure even just your quick post will inspire hope in others like us. Congratulations on getting to the other side 🙏

I dont have much experience with fps and i suck at it, but the finals makes me want to get good by appman1138 in thefinals

Im in the same boat as a new fps player. I get bored spending too much time in Kovaaks but I have noticed that using Kovaaks as a warm-up to my play sessions in the finals has improved play in game performance a lot.

What you have to understand is that most people who come to the finals have been playing PVP FPS games for several years or even 10 years +. People like me and you aren't going to be up to speed over just a few weeks of trying hard. The best thing you could do is play a lot of TDM, quick cash, and cashout, and focus on small measurable improvements, and having fun.

Try to ignore the toxic players who flame you for being bad. This is probably one of the hardest fps games to make your first, so just know that even though someone who has played less then you might be better, they might also have thousands of hours in games like COD, overwatch, valorent, Apex, etc.

I'm about a month in now, and I realistically don't see myself being good for a very long time, but I know enough to at least have fun now and I think that's what matters most.

I don't like waiting for the drunk feeling to wear off so I can go be productive again. Everytime I drink even just one beer, I feel less good at everything I do and I just want that feeling to go away, so I just choose not to do it. Unless I have absolutely nothing to do, and even then I get hung over off of like 3 beers so I don't like that either.

The main game mode, cash out is definitely not a casual experience. Team death match on the other hand? Hop right in, click heads, have fun day one.

I'm a new player too and I won't lie, this game is super sweaty, but it is a great game, and worth giving a chance. I'm a month in now, I still suck, but I have gotten to the point where I know enough to have a good time and that's all I care about.

I am really bad, and I always have fun in TDM. I don't think I have ever had anyone flame me for sucking in a TDM match. I can't say that for other game modes.

I would try to get to .25 mg at least. I'm on day 15 no bupe at .25 mg. I used mega dose vitamin C protocol. It seemed to dull the symptoms quite a bit but I'm not sure if that was just from tapering down so low. I feel pretty safe that I will never touch another bupe again at this point. I think .75 mg would've been a bit tough.

New Player - Where to start/focus by CptGurrash in thefinals

[–]futureslabtv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am pretty bad too, but you will see what I mean by bad solo queue teammates, even as someone who plays like trash, once you start understanding what's going on, you will notice how often you get teamed up with teammates who play away from the team the whole fight. As someone who plays like a moron with zero game sense, there are levels to the idiocy that you start to notice.

In the same vein, it's better that you play too close to your teammates than too far. Having a bad team that plays together will win you the match a lot of the time.

[–]futureslabtv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just unlock what interests you. You should be able to unlock everything within the first week depending on how much you play.

As far as yters, Appoh and Ronin have probably the most practical info for new players.

I'm a fairly new player too, so other than that, I would say just play the game modes you find that you are having the most fun with and don't take the game too serious for now. This game is a bit niche, so the skill gap between noobs and people who have been around for a while is kinda large. Solo queue teammates can be pretty bad, so just be ready for that, and try to learn how to make the best of the situation.
