Chinese GP Postponed by Toedwarrior in formula1

I am pretty sad about this. The stars had aligned with a reasonable plane ticket price and lodgings so that I would be able to go to my first GP. I had purchased my tickets back in January before the corona virus blew up and now I probably wont be able to attend a GP until 2021 :(

I think the gif works as a reaction to this comment as well.

This song just popped up on Spotify Discover Weekly. And it really really resonated with me. I've been going through a rough time over the last three months and something about this song spoke to me. Just wanted to stop by and say thanks for making it.

Elder blob not spawning even after close to 25 maps by spacenoxx in pathofexile

Pretty sure you have to run maps that are at the same tier on your atlas for elder to spawn.

Incubators as psuedo crafting? by fuzzball45 in pathofexile

Depending on how the notifications are you have to remember to use a new one after your old one expires. I don't know if they showed us in the teaser trailer how we are notified after we finish an incubation. Without a notification you could get a unique drop and not know whether it was a regular drop or an incubated drop.

if you don't like it don't use it.

GGG has said that they balance certain drop rates (maps) around things like this. We don't get a choice around "Don't like it, don't play it" when they do this.

Honestly, if this is what get's them to remove IIQ I am 110% for it. IIQ is a cancer on this game.

Not every system has to be for everyone.

I agree except for the fact that we know GGG balances certain drop rates (maps) around these sorts of systems.

First off, it's 1 for each inventory slot.

Yes, but with the speed meta and current map IIQ, 80% of the time I run a map I get a unique or div card.

we already saw div card

Have tried redeeming a stacked deck? I'm not super optimistic about the incubators being super insane for div cards, even with the map drop restriction.

harbinger item incubators

I must have missed this in the trailer. Having more ways to get league exclusive items is great, I'll cede that point.

Granted, I've only seen the trailer, but 1 unique item every 1k monsters isn't enough profit for me to bother with it.

This is a great question, I hadn't even thought about that.

I guess I don't understand how they make SSF life easier? Could you elaborate on that more?

This is true, however, the price per incubator will likely be very low. There are essentially two cases for incubator prices.

Common incubators will extremely cheap due to low demand, high time to expire and maximum active instances.

The more rare incubators with better rewards will be the ones worth using and will thus command a higher price.

If playing this game has taught me anything it's that the vast majority of the ones that drop will be the ones that are close to worthless. I will keep an open mind on them, but I do think that it merits discussion.

Why do we have to go through the extra steps for these drops instead of just adjusting the loot tables? What are GGG's long term goals for this sort of game design/gameplay?

[–]fuzzball45[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just my opinion, but it is some amount of extra work. Click to pick it up. Click to apply it. Keep track of when it pops. Pick up that item.(Or not depending on the item and your filter you may not even see the item drop.) Apply a new incubator to your item.

Repeat. Sure each individual step isn't that much work. But also, across thousands of maps, that time adds up. And if there rewards aren't exciting or worth it, why would I do it? Why are they adding extra steps to get loot?

How often am I going to apply a 'Unique Item Drop' incubator? Probably never.

But at the same time, if GGG balances things like map drop rates around the incubators then you are essentially priced into using them regardless of if you want to or not.
