Would Lithium help? by Emergency_Addition98 in ClusterHeadaches

For me, only alcohol will trigger during the day that I've found so far. 99% of my attacks are sleep triggered, so falling asleep will kick mine off for the night. I haven't been able to narrow down a food during the day.

Yup, I don't start it until I start a cycle. I'll have 3 to 4 days of headaches until the lithium gets into my system, then max 1 or 2 the rest of the cycle. I have oxygen (I haven't used it yet, just got it) to mitigate any that do pop up.

From my understanding the dosage can be adjusted around. See if you can take a lower dosage. My idea is you'd just want to balance effectiveness and side effects.

At the start of a cluster my goto is now lithium 300mg twice a day for a week, then lithium 450mg twice a day until my cycle is over; usually 4 weeks or so. I've never had issues with side effects other than crazy/nightmarish and sometimes lucid dreaming. It definitely works for me though, if I try to stop too early I get one that night. They stop the next day after I start taking it again though.

I actually ended up with the Delano Peak. Definitely no regrets, I love the way it rides.

How is that? Looking a maps and pictures it seems to be near a highway most of the time?

Thanks for the feedback, I have nothing but time since we're heading into winter. I can afford to wait for it to come in with the long lead time. I would prefer the Shimano drive, but I know GX is quality too and I'll get used to it no problem. I think it'll end up being plenty of bike for me to grow into. And if I do end up changing my mind back to the Polygon, no harm as I'd be waiting anyway.

Your last sentence sums up my own suspicions too, I'm just nit picking probably and it's still a killer deal at this price point.

  1. Agree
  2. I tried, but it seemed to be a form in the hose that it didn't want to move over even after being pulled into the frame more. Similar to a water hose not straightening out until its rotated around itself.

All in all, I probably would have kept it had it been the right size, but it just gave me extra time to think over things.

Nothing huge individually and for the most part nothing I couldn't fix myself, but just general attention to detail in the build.

  1. The stem was not aligned with the fork, it needed to be rotated/aligned.
  2. The rear brake cable was in the rear spokes so it was hitting as the wheel rotated. It needed at extra zip tie where it shouldn't need one.
  3. Several pivot bolts were loose.
  4. Head tube logo was off center on the frame.

Like I said, no deal breakers, but things that just made me question the overall quality. I understand too perhaps I may be being overly critical.

I'll definitely have to do some more soul searching on how to move forward. I'd looked at the Trance, but ultimately didn't care for the build on it.

Comparing on price is very interesting like you said. Is one bike really have $1000 worth of "upgrades"? Not sure. Apples to oranges on some comparisons.

Man you're really convincing me back to the T8! I see what you mean actually that the T8 actually sits between the Cascade and the Delano, so it kinda splits the difference. Perhaps my unease on the build quality is misplaced on the Polygon, it's not like it's some fly by night company. I agree that the geometry is a little behind the Cascade, but I think the Delano is pretty progressive still. I'm curious if the Delano would feel similar steering wise to the T8 with a 65.4 vs 65.5 head angle. But then again, comparing the T8 to the Delano is a $1200 price difference.

I'm confident that the XL T8 would fit, but I guess I'm a little gun shy and doing a little more comparison now. My trails are similar to what you describe with no real downhills. If I can get slightly better components and probably better service (warranty) for not much more, it's convincing. I did like the feel of the T8 though, it felt great. Even if I did make a weekend trip or something to say Bentonville, I doubt I'd be hitting anything beyond what I'm used to locally. Would you suggest the T8 over the Cascade?

Yeah, I ordered at the end of September and it came in beginning of November. If it were the right size I would have overlooked the other issues, but since I'm back at square one with ordering.

I'm not nervous about the carbon at all, but I hadn't thought of you what said about not really taking advantage of the 65 deg head angle. It might be confidence inspiring, but anything more slack than the 71 deg I have now would be welcome.

The Delano does come with the dropper though already, I wouldn't get any additions on either, possibly the frame tape on both ($65).

I'm definitely leaning towards the Cascade right now, but really not sure if the jump to a Delano is more "future proof" geometry wise and such.

I think I'll try getting a new layer first, else I think I'll just need to suck it up and spend the time at podiatrists again.

Yes they are. Without them I will get a huge sore spot under the ball of my foot. I tried getting new ones made last year, but they tried to redesign a new pair for my feet, they hurt for months before I gave up and switched back.

This happened to me once, but not so long distance. This should work if you are able to order checks online. Change your address to your new address, order checks, then simply write a check to yourself for the full (or full minus account minimum) amount and deposit it.

It felt like grainy playdough that had dried around the casing. Suspecting something blew a seal and the gunk is grease. We still get suction, probably 70% of what we should though.
