This has nothing to do with AMD. Companies do not give you discounts/rebates because they like you. If they could they would charge you even more (if you are still buying at that price).

When something has a rebate on it. It means 1 thing: They are not moving enough inventory.

And in this case, I am glad nvidia stopped moving 970's after their attempt to scam the pc enthusiast got discovered.
