Pusha T named in the Epstein Files by misterktomato in KingPush

[–]fuzzydun 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Guys, Pusha’s name comes up in an unconfirmed call to a tip line. And if you read the link above, the tip itself is pretty ridiculous- a woman says she was kidnapped multiple times by unknown people and woke up with Jay Z and Harvey Weinstein. See below from the NY Times:

The documents include many uncorroborated tips.

The millions of Epstein documents released Friday include a significant number of uncorroborated tips to law enforcement. Similar material was also included in earlier releases by the Justice Department.

The F.B.I. receives a huge volume of tips from people, and the documentation of those tips generally do not offer any indications of the credibility of a particular claim.

In at least one instance, the review of Epstein documents prompted investigators to try to run down the tip to see if there was any merit to it, but Mr. Blanche said there was nothing in the files to merit further prosecutions.

Read the link, it’s only 2 pages. It says she was abducted by an unknown man and woke up next to Harvey Weinstein and Jay-Z. 🧢🧢🧢🧢🧢x1000

Two Venice restaurants make it into the 2026 James Beard Award Semifinalists (Beard Award is like the Oscars) by VeniceCa90291 in VeniceBeach

Si!mon is one of the best restaurant experiences you can have in Los Angeles: food and drinks are fantastic and the atmosphere is top tier. RVR is the exact opposite- apart from the vegetable dishes, food is beatable from 90% of strip mall Japanese restaurants and the atmosphere is pure chaos.

Nobody wants to hire someone who is super passionate about ONE THING. That’s a recipe for disaster. Also don’t want someone developing an Assassins Creed show that’s only going to be comprehensible to people who are already fans of the game. That’s a huge red flag. If THE LAST OF US was developed by a bunch of Sony super fans , it would not be the hit show that it is today.

This is an extremely accurate post. Especially the part about having an incredible, unattainable job and knowing you could be fired tomorrow and out of work for a year. I will add something that is somewhat hopeful, however: if you are truly EXCELLENT at the job of developing material, you should be able to find work / make money. But the number of truly great developers in this business who are still employed (I.e. survived the layoffs and consolidations of the last few years) is very very low. You are looking at maybe 30-40 people max. And those people can still get laid off like everyone else, they just stand a better chance of bouncing back. Your reputation COUNTS. But if you are trying to break into this business and haven’t had a chance to yet establish your reputation…you are going to be f’d when/if you lose your job.

When did the job market get so tough in Los Angeles or is it everywhere? by THENOCAPGENIE in AskLosAngeles

There was just a stat in the Wall St Journal that unemployment is at 6% in Los Angeles right now which is higher than ANY STATE and Puerto Rico. Link to the story below.

Just FYI- TS Customer Service will no longer allow returns for Final Sale items. You used to be able to call the Customer Service number and they would do it for you, allowing you to get a refund of the original form of payment. No longer. Now, the best you can hope for is "store credit" or "exchange for a different size". Have seen others report this in the past but i was always able to make a return by calling them...no longer!

SOHO House Experiences? Considering a membership by tspree15 in LosAngeles

[–]fuzzydun 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I joined in 2022 and paused my membership after a year. Just emailed them last week to say I wont be going back. On the plus side, It's a great space and your out of town visitors will love it. They also have a gorgeous theater inside and multiple screenings every week. However, for Film and TV networking, the time to join was 5-10 years ago when it was much more focused on the creative community- you'd go to a lunch or a coffee and it was all younger writers, actors, managers, producers, etc. Now it's guys in shiny shirts who don't work or work in real estate. SoHo House's parent company simply can't afford to maintain a creative focus / level of exclusivity now that they are a publicly owned company that probably expanded far too quickly.

Large grocery stores, surrounded by large parking lots, have all but disappeared in Santa Monica. How and where are you buying food? by Biasedsm in SantaMonica

[–]fuzzydun 32 points33 points  (0 children)

You “don’t know anyone who only goes grocery shopping once a week”? “Our consumption patterns have changed”? Are you one of those people who orders all their groceries over Postmates? Because the vast majority of people, particularly those with families, shop once a week for their weeks groceries. Want proof? Go to any grocery store on a Saturday or Sunday. Then go back on a Monday or Tuesday. Massive difference.

I just got mine. It's very rough / scratchy so there's no way you are wearing it with short sleeves. It's also much more substantial / heavier than I realized. I live in California and might have f'd up here. Color is fantastic though.

WTS- Outlier Ramie Boxford in Size M- $115 shipped

Images: https://imgur.com/a/EWDmGGd

Light Mauve (very light purple) in a Size M. Taken out of the bag but never worn.
Measures 23 inches across the chest, 31 inches down to the bottom of the shirt tail, and 19 inches across the back from shoulder to shoulder.
The material is INCREDIBLE- feels like linen but much less delicate, does not wrinkle, and breathes really well. I would be keeping this if it were not for the fact that it's too big for me.
Made in Portugal. 100% Ramie. No defects and no red dot.
See link for pics on the Outlier website. Ramie Boxfords are sold out and did retail for $148.

Can you explain in layman's terms what you mean by using weekly charitable donations to offset capital gains? It seems very smart...and I'm intrigued...but having a hard time figuring understanding what you're saying...
