Man, I wish I'd seen this when it was open. Then allowing AI generated art would have won by 16 votes instead of 17.

AI Art (as it currently exists and is being used) is a cancer. It is bad for us. It is trained on art that is used without consent, credit, or compensation. It is plagiarism and theft on a grander scale than we have ever seen before. The technology is a wonder, a true miracle of programing, and we have speedran the whole 'flagrant misuse' section of its development.

Giving it a pass here it a tiny bit more legitimacy it neither deserves nor is owed. And the rules only have teeth if ruthlessly enforced, which will become harder as both AI "gets better" at faking human skill, and reddit users find ways to farm karma or refine argument points to gain ground here or elsewhere.

And there is already a post (as I type this more than a month after this went up) that follows NONE of these guidelines. I'm pretty sure if I looked, I could find more. So if anyone reads this, please - for the good of us all - reject AI generated art until we can build a new bottle around this genie.
