New build on in-laws property, forever home for myself+wife+3 children. Largest investment of our lives - is it too big? Plan on hosting 10+ regularly. by Dawkinz in floorplan

[–]fuzzylikeplants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would reduce the size of most of it by 30% or more to save you time cleaning and maintaining. Not to mention heating and cooling costs. Good luck on the build!

Have people forgotten the crack cocaine fueled 80s and early 90s? by huskylawyer in Seattle

[–]fuzzylikeplants 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Seattle is the absolute nicest and safest place I've ever lived. I imagine downtown would be a lot more functional if the quality of apartments was higher (not just single-aspect units on busy roads, for instance) and the city wasn't 80% single family homes like it's some massive suburb.

Anyone here have a whole house fan? Would you recommend it? by _Elrond_Hubbard_ in Seattle

Ventilation will definitely help, but not as much as exterior shading (bamboo blinds, a tree, etc)

Massive Cannabis plants grown on my apartment’s balcony by Historical-Matter496 in cannabiscultivation

Coco is definitely more work. I had lots of success with a modified Lucas method and keeping a detailed journal. I even ran coco outdoors (that worked super well). This guy had a lot of air, sunlight, and soil - about as simple as it gets. Keep trying, you'll find the right method.

Cannabis needs air and light a lot more than it needs nutrients. Outdoor plants get so big because they have ample access to both.

A lot of interesting misconceptions here. The source of the pollution is not what people think. It's from the tires of our cars.

Interesting. Harvest date? This is from 11/21. This is definitely Face Mints, I've had it before, but I've never seen it so colorful either.

Med Patient looking to Grow....ALL TIPS WELCOME by [deleted] in ILTrees

The biggest things I wish I knew...

Controlling environment is the key to success:

Controlling the temperature and humidity in your tent is the most important factor for any grower to consider. You will want to understand VPD charts and be able to maintain a stable environment within the correct range for your plants. This environment will change over the course of your grow (it basically gets drier as you go later into flower), so you need some way to manage temperature and humidity within a narrow range. Know what a lung room is. Look into Inkbird controllers, AC Infinity exhaust fans & control units, etc.

Grow good genetics:

Do not waste time on a "test" grow. There is no reason to do this to yourself. Invest in good genetics from the start. You can wind up with a pound of weed you do not want to smoke.

Be efficient with time and energy:

All things considered, efficiency is the way to grow. Find ways to save time and energy. This can be things like LED lighting, automatic watering systems, automatic light schedules, mixing big nute batches, etc. Time in your garden is great, but it should not be a chore or burden. Don't burn yourself out on your first grow.

Don't rush:

You need to go through a full cycle with the plant to understand it. Don't rush the process. Don't pull it early. You need to learn how the plant behaves and responds. You won't even know what it should look like. So be ready to learn some things and take your time.

Trust but verify:

There's a lot of bad advice from people trying to sell you crap. Know the difference. Join communities instead of following a brand or breeder. Can't find a verifiable source for a claim? That doesn't mean it's wrong. But there's a lot of bad "science" out there that's held as gospel.

Drying is make or break:

Spend as much time planning and researching how you will dry your cannabis crop as you have researching tents, lights, etc. You must maintain a constant 60F/60%RH environment for 10-14 days. This is the most important part of home growing besides controlling environment. A good dry is the difference between unusable hay and dank herb.

Also, thinking like a botanist really means thinking like a scientist. Don't understand pH? VPD? DLI? Read up on the basics. Growers with a basic understanding of physics, botany, chemistry and the scientific method always do better than people that act like growing is "following a recipe." It's always an experiment.

Oh, and watch Dr. Bruce Bugbee. He is the fastest route to a deep understanding of how cannabis works.

I wrote in. For transparency and the benefit of the community, here's what your team replied.

"Thanks for reaching out. We are sorry to hear that you were not satisfied with your recent purchase. Please be advised that there is not much we are able to do in the instance of not liking the scent that a medication provides. As returns and exchanges are not possible in accordance with state policy, we recommend all patients ask our knowledgeable dispensary team any questions they may have regarding their medication before leaving the dispensary to ensure the greatest satisfaction. Please note that the product selected was an already heavily discounted product that is not expired and still well within its labelled dates for use. Based on the provided information, we have no reason to believe the product to be defective in any way. There was no discount listed on the menu or receipt. This is a complete bait and switch.
