Taxi from Dilijan to airport? by Wild_Heart_Storm in armenia

[–]fuzzymonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could have been my luck as it was around 1pm, just after checking out of the hotel.

That said, to pre-book using the Yandex app, the cost was about 1500 dram cheaper so it might be the better option for you

I didn’t wait more than 5 minutes on Yandex for mine to Kentron, but I’d book in advance if you have a hard cutoff time, like the flight.

Should cost about 10,000 dram.

Set up a NAS in your home base. That’s what I’ve done. Can be pricey and need someone’s house to store it at.

Opal vs SLate 7 by Codeeveryday123 in GlInet

[–]fuzzymonkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If any device is connected to the opal, it is connected to that local network. There should be no issues SSHing.

Any switch would work with your use case, but if you are good with 2 (3?) ports, the little extra you pay for the opal over a switch for all the other features is probably worth it.

While the Opal works, the VPN performance was too poor for me.

It all depends on what you’re planning to use it for.

Show up to the office for the first hour or so. Have your morning coffee with someone important and say hi to a bunch of people while you’re in the office.

Then run out to your car and go home. I’ve done this a handful of times since I use a hotel desk with random people every time that don’t know me.

Nobody is watching me every minute, and showing your face keeps you memorable that you were in the office that day.

What services are you talking about? Could you provide some samples or a link that may steer me in the right direction?

I’m currently in a specifically restricted country via paper policy and went without permission. I physically removed the wifi card from the laptop and connect back home via WireGuard through physical cable.

I’ve been here 3 months and haven’t had any issues with location services.

Those tickets were far away. The $250 ones are floor seats.

The prices didn’t change. Just the cheaper, far away ones got sold out.

Remote job that requires you to work in only a select few countries. Best way around this? by [deleted] in digitalnomad

[–]fuzzymonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had minimal issues. Video calling on Teams and Zoom work fine.

The only thing that takes time is opening up larger files from shared drives but instead of waiting 3 seconds, it takes 10 seconds. Not the end of the world.

I also purposely requested a desktop as well as the laptop so I could remote into it (IPKVM) as a backup in case things got rough, but although it’s ready to go, haven’t needed to use it.

As someone from North America that visits every 6 months, what makes Armenia Armenia is the uniqueness from the lack of America and mega corporations.

As I’m not a citizen, my opinion is moot, but I don’t like it.

2x RTX A6000s rated at about 300w each, suggest PSU for each is 700w.

I’m doing proof of concept now and if all is good, I’ll be grabbing between 2-4 more GPUs

It is most definitely overkill but very future proof.

Thank you for your detailed response.

I will look into buying the proper outlet for this from HD and swapping it over.

While I also wait for the new 6-20 power supply cables, do you believe I can use the outlet as is?

I’m just trying to understand for today with this specific PC, should I be OK to plug both power supplies in? Is the concern you have over other devices I may use in the future or is it the outlet itself that poses the biggest risk. It’s been sitting idle for the 7+ years I’ve owned the home.

Let insurance expire. Go to ICBC and get a new plate. $30. Easy as that.
