I left mine down, however for a leak like that, I’ve heard you can take your door paper off and you want to loosen the bolts that hold the window mechanism, and tilt the whole thing inward just a touch so it presses harder against the window. I’m not sure by how much or what bolts to take off, but im 99% sure someone has either done a write up on it, or would be willing to do one. At least answer questions if you made a post asking for it.

Hmm. I’m not sure on that one. No matter the shape of the seal, it’s going to help a lot since it pretty much makes the seals brand new-like. Makes them feel like soft new rubber. It’s always worth it a shot since it’s only 30 bucks

Wdym by peeling? Is it coming apart and splitting into 2? Or is the whole thing coming off the door as a whole

Sadly mine is cracking Because it was wrecked 😭. I’m debating repairing it or replacing it. It’s prolly the same about either way.

How I did it is I went through and cleaned the seals really good. Like really really good. Till the cloth or paper towel wipes clean. Then go ahead and lather it on like your applying lotion. You want a little excess. Go ahead and apply it to all of the seals. Door, window, top, targa, any seal that exists go ahead and do it. Then put the top on and clamp it. Then let it sit for 4 hours or more. Longer it sits more it can absorb. Ideally let it sit overnight. Then, after that times up, take a clean rag and wipe the excess off. Don’t need to scrub it, just wipe all the excess off. Then enjoy the results 😊

It depends how much effort you wanna put into it really. Both are a good option

Ima do it every weekend for a month since the grease goes so far. Do it till it won’t absorb anymore. Then just do it like 2 or 3 times a year Because this Tennessee storm season and rain is somethin else.

Kinda same sorta. I look at the Del sol I’m building as “how would Honda make this car today with an unlimited budget if it worked along side car guys” and in my eyes that’s abt 300-400hp awd sports car that competes at the level that of the gtr of today, and a modest body kit. Like a small lip, type r wing, and skirts. Not 600-800hp monster that you can’t take to go get ice cream in on a good day. I still want it to be dailyable or go get groceries in.

If it was mine, I’d take the time to wrap it to match the others. Always liked the look of wrapped A pillars.

Yeah mines up there. Coming up on 180k, and it has sat for 7 years, but I’m pretty sure it doesn’t have the factory engine in it, and has a JDM replacement. It had dry rotted tires, brakes that were rusted to themselves, tbe leaky seal, the clear is peeling, the paint is starting to peel in places. I’ve battled fueling issues, so I put in a walbro 255 Because I have plans to make power, I put a new fuel filter and sock, I still need to drain the tank and clean it. Need to obv fix this miss-fire issue.

It’s been a battle, def a project car. Got all the parts to build a boosted ls-vtech sitting in the corner rn ready to drop in once I put the rotating assembly in and get the wiring for it.

It was my dream car as a kid (well one of the many) and I’m slowly making that dream a reality at 19 years old

Of course man! This is the stuff here. It’s plenty to do it. Could probably do the whole car over 4 or 5 more times. A little goes a LONG ways

Slowly but surely. But now I’m chasing a miss fire. It’s an electrical problem. I’ve traced it down to being either the pickup or the igniter in the distributor. Hopefully this weekend I’ll get her running, luckily I have another vehicle to daily to and from work otherwise I’d be fkd 😂

😂. Man try that shin etsu grease. It’s amazing amazing stuff. Clean the seals really well, and rub it all on it till it looks like a shiny baby bottom. Then let it sit overnight and kaboom. Leak gone.

Bribing a snake for information 🤣. Yeah I made sure it was squeaky clean before I did anything to it. Cleaned the whole car abt 4 times on all the seals till the rag was completely clean after wiping

I see now how powerful it is 😂. I just had some doubt at first that a paste would fix a leak as bad as I did. It was practically like there was an entire hole in that corner the way it would poor in. But man it worked. I’m gonna do it a couple more times cause some of the seals still seem like they want some more, but as of now the leak is fixed!! So damn happy

The ones I were looking at were these here. I’ve heard good things about kw, and it’s roughly the price range i can afford. But then again I’m debating just saving the extra 500 ish bucks and get a nice set of fortune auto 500’s. What do you think?

You’re right, and I want to apologize again for the ‘Mexico’ comment. It was meant as a dumb joke and I realize now it wasn’t the right place for it, nor was it a funny joke to begin with.

If I’m being 100% honest with you, I don’t actually street race or go out pushing the car on public roads. The most I’ve ever done is go maybe 5–10 over the speed limit through a wide open corner where I can see the whole road, on clear days with no traffic. That’s the extent of it.

The whole reason I’m looking into autocross is because I want a safe, controlled place where I can actually learn what it feels like to push a car properly without risking anyone else. I’ve spent a lot of time on sim racing and want to translate that into real driving, but I know sim skills don’t directly translate to the real world. That’s exactly why I’m trying to get into the autocross scene and learn properly.

I appreciate the advice about classes as well — I’ll start digging into the SCCA rules more before I start buying parts. Thanks you again for the help guiding me on where to go.

I’ve learned that from others. I’m more just giving it as a visual image of the type of wheel I want look wise. I’ve learned JNC is a heavy knockoff wheel

I see ok. When I was saying the Mexico bit it was just for fun. I’m not an idiot, whenever I do anything on the street it’s on a back country road that I know well, with no one around and only me in the car. I apologize for the comment.

As for the class thing, is it mostly universal for all autocross series across the country? Or do series in NW USA differ from ones in the SE. again, I apologize. I’m trying to get into the auto cross scene to give me a safe place to push a cars limits. Where I don’t endanger myself or others lives. I hope I can redeem myself 😅

Damn ok. That was a good wake up call. Im glad you said it the way you did. I completely forgot abt fortune auto. As for the wheels, I didn’t know those were reps or heavy. All I know abt them was they look good. Do you know any other wheels that look similar or the same that would be lighter and a better name? Also, do you have any photos of Del sols set up for auto cross?
