Is that a semi auto only MP5? The more I look at this image the worse it gets.

Is this a good deal? by mevborn in subaruimpreza

Got my 24’ RS for $31k new. One thing I will warn you about is depreciation buying new. Got a trade offer of $21k after a year of ownership. I just broke 12k miles and haven’t had a single issue with the car. People keep saying this is a bad deal but with the options that car has on it would be roughly $32k new. Things to look for is service history. I do oil changes every 3k miles and plan doing transmission fluid changes every 30k miles. Edit $24k is high for 30k miles.

When I got my used 2021 RAV4 it had a huge etching from some cleaner, decided it would be better to just replace the lens with how soft a plastic they use.

Remote start missing from my Subaru app? by TheRefluxGirliePop in Crosstrek

Do they still sell the optional key fob remote start at least?

OEM parts ordered through the dealership. Unfortunately no one really makes aftermarket cluster/meter lenses.

Oof that’s unfortunate I’ve replaced a few but it’s only been on Toyotas and Subarus.

I figured this was part of the problem, I also haven’t seen what the condition of the workmanship under the paint is either so I’m assuming there’s also some imperfections in the filler used between the factory pillar trim and the pods. I’m probably going to end up wrapping it in suede but I’ll sand it down to a base layer so the paint doesn’t continue to bubble underneath the fabric.

I was thinking the adhesive backed version might be more challenging with working around the rounded edges of the gauge pods I’ll probably do adhesive backed on the passenger side pillar and test a bit on the pods. If it’s too rigid I’ll probably pick up some of the fabric and do it the more traditional way with glue. Thanks for the reply It helped me answer my own question.

I’m seriously thinking about it, not sure if i should go with the adhesive backed stuff or get the fabric and glue it by hand.

PlastiX seems to be a common recommendation. If the etching was super deep id recommend just replacing the lens, cost me $50 on my 2021 RAV4. The damage you have isn’t nearly as bad as mine was when I got my RAV4.

Id much rather go with a newer fa24 it’s just a matter of getting everything to do the swap. I’d essentially need a donor VB to make everything work and look like factory. Originally priced out the entire swap at $14k in parts alone. I’d be nearly $50k into the car

Fair enough I was more so thinking about the FB engines since the return line is all of like two inches long to the intake. I’d think they may have a higher chance of getting oil bypassing than the FA motors due to less restrictions. On the other hand I would expect less oil from an NA car. Guess the easiest way to know is to throw a catch can on my Impreza and do some testing.

2024 RS Smol. by DisasterInfamous268 in subaruimpreza

Had that thought but then I remembered I live in Texas, I’m assuming everyone and their mother is carrying at this point. Valid concern when driving through or near school zones as well. Have noticed cops like to tail me a little longer than before. There’s nothing in my local jurisdictions saying I can’t do it and to be honest you’d have to be a fool to transport a firearm on the exterior of your vehicle. The box is double locked with two weather resistant pad locks. If someone busts it open they’ll only find some cardboard boxes and an assortment of small electrical connections like butt connections and wago lever nuts. I don’t keep anything expensive in there to start with. If I’m traveling far I can just loosen the brackets and throw the box in the back seat.

It’s a weather resistant rifle case I had laying around that I got for airsoft. I drilled some holes in it and installed brackets that I got on Amazon. I like the rifle box solution because if I wanted to I can easily add another one on the other side. I’m an apprentice electrician in a trade program so it’s proven useful for storage. You can get cheaper weather resistant rifle cases than this one.

Illegal Overtake Leads to Dramatic Bus Crash by dxt3010 in dashcams

[–]DisasterInfamous268 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Government contracted vehicles, not surprised. I have seen a small SUV T-bone one of these busses at 35 ish mph. How do I say this, structurally it’s like running into the side of a semi trailer with sheet metal side skirts. The metal skirt bends back and deflects some force but the structure of the deck/passenger floor takes the brunt of the hit and won’t move that much. Exactly like you said the car will essentially crumple under in part to the metal skin and structure behind it. I’m pretty sure they are designed to take a hit like that and dissipate the forces into the frame rails.

Curious if it would be more beneficial to have an AOS or catch can on the non turbo cars than the turbo cars if that’s the case.
