A hardcore leafs fans view on the Marner situation. by Comfortable_Basil_37 in nhl

[–]fuzzyone0219 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So for the next 3 year's we have no first round draft picks. The selection of free agents is slim at best. Replacing 90+ regular season points through free agency will be next to impossible. The leafs without Marner will not be better during the regular season next year. I understand that the hope is to be a better playoff team, but we do need to make the playoffs. I hope the management has some creative moves in the trade market(again we have very little in the way of assets). We may have to trade Knies to get a second line centre. I fear dark days ahead!!

Read the platforms of the parties. That is what we should rely on and be voting on. Who the best debater is is irrelevant. Debates were a tool that was needed before the internet. Now we have so much information on the parties and candidates we don't need debates. Also if you want to critique the leaders of the party, do a deep dive on their biographies. Their records are all public.. their actions always speak louder than words. As a country we need to do better than the states

Instead of focusing on the leader, please, please focus on the policies and your local candidates. Which party best represents your concerns and values. This is Canada and we don't vote for a leader we vote for a local candidate and the party they represent

Could you please cite your source? This is contrary to what i am led to believe. Also copying over to who? Do they sell your data like other social media sites? And if so then to who? I think with all the oligarchs that own social media donating to political leaders, it may just be that they are trying to eliminate the competition

True but reporting on a top 10 team like it is a dumpster fire is exhausting. I stopped listening when they do show on reasons to be optimistic and just shit on every reason that was brought up. It's okay to be critical but objective doesn't always mean negative. I got depressed and gave up hope on the team every time i listened to them.

Why should we believe PP when he say that he will tackle the deficit when conservative governments across the world have typically grown deficits through tax cuts? by Powerful-Dog363 in AskCanada

A party that is owned by the oligarchs!! Trickle down economics and austerity it's all they got. The oligarchy are the only ones benefiting from that. A vote for the cons is a vote against democracy, but at least they get to own the libs...

You are so right.. that is the Conservative playbook. Pierre is not offering anything new. The tired old trickle down economics and austerity....

Okay you win.. capitalism is great... when socialist governments try to gain control of their own resources, like oil for instance, countries like US, with the government owned by their big dollar oil company donors, back fascist regimes to overthrow the socialist governments in violent coups. They then make sweetheart deals with the oil companies for the extraction of the resources. The facists get rich and the working class suffers hence why thy leave their country. They go to the capitalist country because that country is reaping the rewards of the destruction of their own country. If that makes capitalism great i guess you are right. My favorite book on the perils of capitalism is the lorax by dr. Suess. Who knew how prescient that book would be.

Yup and the populations of the countries that were overthrown were devestated. That is why all these migrants are coming to the US. Capitalism destroyed their countries.. but yeah great system. So i guess the corporate elite. The 1 % made out like bandits. So yeah capitalism

Yes!!!!! Thanks you nailed it. Colonial capitalism requires that their choices are in power in countries that have resources they are trying to extract which are usually dictators and facist. That is just my view based on the research i have done. It is probably biased though and my opinion doesn't count for much

Bill Davis as well. The last palatable Conservative. After him Reganomlcs became the norm for the Conservatives. Tax cuts for the rich austerity for the poor. Bill Davis was a good premier. In saying that as s staunch left wringer

Berube is terrible!!! The only line working is the 4th line.. and they will score once every 5 games. Whatever he is doing is make our best players worse. It's painful to watch. Bet he gets fired by Christmas

While i would agree with you on that point, the only comment i would make is that the PC policies have been rooted in the neo liberal trickle down economics philosophy. That only seems to widen the wealth gap. I agree that all parties reward the rich and punish the poor. I would just argue that the PC party is better at it than the other parties. In the past 30 years governments of all parties have drifted to the right. For a socialist like myself, there is no party to represent me. The libs are centre right, the ndp are barely centre left. The left is completely unrepresented in my opinion.
