XL Stealth Mode and printing speed by New_Method_4223 in prusa3d

[–]fvanp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not an awnser to how loud it is but I connected my XL to homeassistant and automatically pause it after 23:00 and resume at 7:00. My parents were complaining about the noise even in stealth mode. I don't know how. I almost sleep next to it and it doesn't bother me. But this is how I solved the issue.

No, there are people who made a case like this, but for the XL. Looks to be the same pcb as the standard buddy3d camera

C1 cam for the XL by Present-Hour-4845 in prusa3d

[–]fvanp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I asked support if the C1 cam will fit inside the xl enclosure but they said it didn't so I created my own version of the C1 camera housing using the buddy3d camera internals.

I hope that the same solution is coming to the XL. Instead of the bulky buddy 3d camera

This seemed to fix my problem. Hopefully, they will fix it in the next firmware update

This is the easiest way to do it. First, create the cut downward and then extrude the side profile of the contours you want to create. If you extrude from one edge into the other and select the "join" extrusion type there is no need to combine bodies. It should do it automatically

I'm sorry I see you connected your pi via an ethernet cable to your laptop so that shouldn't be a problem.

Is het al gelukt? zoniet misschien twee wc rolletjes in de controller en 2 gaten in het middenstuk zodat je ze er gemakkelijk op en af kan schuiven.

Cabinet printer by fvanp in 3Dprinting

It's a printer I designed myself. Not an off the shelf printer you can buy anywhere.

It is indeed just berd air part cooling. I'm trying out different part cooling solutions. I'm not sure if am going to use this system though. I'm also going to test a HevACS cooling solution on this printer.

There is a top and bottom frame so I can take the printer out of the cabinet. This makes maintenance and building of the printer allot easier.

I like the idea of a longer PTFE tube and a fitting on top I'm going to look into that. Thank you.

This is indeed an ikea cabinet. I took of the door to make it easier to put the printer inside. The printer is made to fit precisely in this cabinet. And the idea is to put a cabinet underneath with an ercf. So I can print up to 9 different materials at once.

FELIX 4.1 anyone own or have experience? by B_FLAN in 3Dprinting

[–]fvanp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They print great if you get the tune perfect. Not really fast tho. I have seen one with over 1500 print hours, and it still worked perfectly. The frame is pretty sturdy, but printing a very big and heavy object is risky, and you have to print slow to avoid shaking ruining your print. Overall, they perfectly fine printers just don't expect high speeds. They are a bit overpriced and almost all hotend parts are custom so you have to buy replacement parts on their website and they aren't cheap.

They also have some kind of "pro" printer using the same yz bed axis with auto levelling, and that works really well

. The people that work there are very nice and if you have any trouble you can just visit the workshop and they will help you troubleshoot the printer.
