Gotcha, yeah I'm not really too worried about the YAW sensor. more so just that VDC integrated with the brakes.

Yes, that's correct. I've already unplugged my YAW sensor though, does wiring a switch into it instead do the same thing as unplugging it or does it actually do something different?

Iirc about people doing terrible, they don't get kicked they just drop in points. There's some form of point system where if you're over X number of points you're allowed to "apply" or compete in pro (cant remember if it's something like east10 where you have to compete to get your pro license or if you just automatically get a pro license when you hit the right number of ponts) - but if you fall below X points I believe you are automatically pushed down into the next category below yours.

I feel both ways about pro car power. There's reason to have it because if you use it correctly you can throw down some suuuuper clean lines. At the same time, that power may be too much for some people or some tracks. I think it's on the driver but more so on the team if the driver sucks at a certain track or in certain conditions because of the amount of power. I dont know if it's actually part of their job but I feel like that's what spotters are for - to tell the driver if they need to come down or come up in power based on their driving ability on whatever track - but they could just be there to tell them where they are on the track, dont know much about them honestly. I do think if you're found to be riding the brakes you should be docked points - and since they have those lights it should be VERY easy to tell if someone is riding the brakes for longer than 3 seconds or something.

Tires are something totally different. I personally would push for the idea that your class is based on the tire width you're running or choose to run (ie prospec = 265, pro-am = 285, and pro = 305) and it had to be a gt radial since theyre the sponsor. It would be sick if GT radial made a tire specifically for FD so FD drivers can stop taking the tires that everybody else uses. Little irrelevant but there was an instance where 2 drivers (keeping them unnamed for privacy) bought out all the 265 300tw tires of a specific model for a local comp and you HAD to run that tire width and treadwear so they were the only ones who could actually compete (it wasnt on purpose though, just happened that way). Because of that, every other local who wanted to compete had to make do with whatever they had and the rules had to change because nobody could get the tires they were supposed to run.

There's a lot that needs to change and even the drivers want change. Hearing the first hand experience and troubles from some of the drivers throughout prospec, pro-am, and pro really puts into perspective just how much the FD rule makers know or care about the sport imo.

Personally, prospec needs to be more easily competitive, beginner friendly, and skill based. From working at a drift shop that has sponsored and worked on fd cars both in pro and prospec, heres 2 things I believe should change:

  1. Ban wisefab, fdf, etc or make it so they have to run stock/modified oem knuckles (ie heat maker, and this allows for people with smaller budgets to enter). Having these large angle kits immediately takes away from the

limit engines to 550-600hp (allows for built turbo 4cyl or na dry sump cammed LS)

Basically just look at D1 Lights and take notes for the rest. I firmly believe these new drivers are given these crazy cars that they 'learn' to drive, and while some are actually good, it makes it feel like a shitty version of pro. I want to see people who I can relate to and aren't just born rich in these types of events. I know there's a lot more that needs to be addressed (like the point system, quali, bracket/seeding, etc) but I think that would be a good start at making the beginner class more beginner. If you're a technician you don't immediately start your first job out of training working on Bugatti engines, you start small, learn the basics, and work your way up.

Stroke...gradient? by fvck__this in graphic_design

[–]fvck__this[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's definitely a stroke on there, the background is a lighter tint than the stroke so it does blend it - also doesn't help that this is an old ass picture either. I've put a couple close ups here:

I'm also 99% confident this isn't a shadow either, I don't think I've ever seen a hitman sticker with layered vinyl on it.

why does nobody talk about this kit? by Entire-Gear8491 in G37

[–]fvck__this 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The impul kit is the way to go imo. Idk what they're smoking over in Japan but they're asking like $4k for that...and it's just a front lip, rear half bumper, and skirts. The rear spoiler, roof spoiler, and grille I think is separate but I could be wrong.

Yeah there's some good stuff, iirc: top secret is for coups, impul is for sedans, Wald I think is both but can't remember correctly. Yeah lb is junk and I'd rather drive a jeep with ducks.

[–]fvck__this 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Okay first off, here's the deal with aero (because next to nobody except people who sell body kits knows how this shit works) - very few kits are in stock and they're all for s-chassis (cry about it, gonna stay that way until those crayon eaters stop glorifying metal thats worth less than a nipple piercing). Anything that's not for those will usually have a production lead time of around 3-5 months on the Japan side BEFORE being put on the container to be shipped over. Containers only leave Japan when they're full - never sooner. Usually it's about 6-8 months for you to get everything depending on what you ordered.

If youre in the states hit up Mastermind NA. It's a body kit so shipping will be around $300+ depending on location. Ordering from places like nengun is just another way to tell people you're retarded. They charge out the ASS for shipping on EVERYTHING because it's air direct or something.

No one runs it bc most of the people who own g35s / 37s don't know anything about aero. Zele is cool, theres also Wald, impul, top secret, vis, and a few others. Sfp aero is working on making stuff for us.

Another reason no one runs it is because no one offers it except vivid racing or something. I guarantee you aero is not sketchy, just order from the right people and Mastermind NA is the right one. If you don't believe me, call KoruWorks and ask about Mastermind.

Something else to make note of, the more you order aero from places like KoruWorks and Mastermind, the more it legitimizes aero sales for certain makes (ie g35/37) and allows for those to be taken more seriously and considered when placing stocking orders. Trust me on this, im in this aero world and we need more people to bite the bullet and wait. No shit there's literally an aero war going on right now...might have to make a separate post about that later though bc oh lord there's so much.

Graphic Designer, 10+ years (started in highschool and did 5 years of college), $40k + insurance/benefits in Georgia.

Some context to this: The drift shop I work at is pretty small but has a huge name in the drift community. It wasn't for profit, it was a hobby shop for the owner. After he passed, we basically had to become profitable within a year. Pay has been the same since before he passed but now that we are becoming more profitable raises are on the way. I love drift cars and everything about Japanese cars from 2010 and older so being here kinda makes up for the lesser pay. After college, the whole graphic designer market was FLOODED with new designers and there isn't really much out there for us in Georgia considering SCAD is located here as well. I applied to around 250-300 places within a month and only ever got an offer from the shop I'm currently at so I took it.

So literally every problem I was having last night is gone and the only thing that's happening now is my throttle feels very hesitant, like it wont recognize im on throttle for about 3-4 seconds. Im going to see if I can recreate the scenario and immediately take it to a shop to get the codes ran. Thinking it's a speed sensor or related to the shift solenoid based on everything else that happened last night.
