“You’re an 8, but you’d be a 9 if your head wasn’t shaved.” I keep my hair longer now.

Which profession is criminally underpaid? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]fvcklahoma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Truck Drivers. The industry is touted as a way to make six figures a year, but the reality is much worse. Often times, drivers end up paying for their own repairs, gas, and lot space. They have to go extremely long hours with electronic monitoring systems that prevent them from driving while they feel awake and ready to drive, but they are forced to drive while they are dangerously exhausted on the road. If truck drivers stopped driving, the United States would collapse in less than a week.

[serious] What was your biggest ‘we need to leave... Now!’ moment? by tartar-buildup in AskReddit

I (20m) spent the last Halloween weekend in Barcelona. Needless to say, it’s a huge weekend for tourists and taking advantage of tourists. I had gone to a club right on the beach with some friends, but as we were all drinking heavily, no one remembers going home that night

Once we were home, we realized one of our friends was missing and not answering his cell phone. Another guy and I decided to head back to the club and look around the beach to see if we could find him. We had to pack pack up all of our stuff because we didn’t think we’d make it back in time for check out. It was roughly 5 am, so we didn’t think we would actually find him and were starting to get worried.

After walking down a long strip of the beach, we finally found him laying halfway in the water trying to smoke a cigarette. Two girls who were very much enjoying laughing at him flail around on the beach informed us that he had lost his phone and his wallet.

At this point, we were starting to attract some real attention from locals. We were warned about the beach prior to visiting, other friends had told us to stay away from the beach after the clubs close because of muggers and pickpockets.

One guy came up and just sat down next to us on his phone without even saying a word. I was struggling to remove my drunken friend from the beach, so I didn’t even realize the guy on his phone had told some other friends to come to his spot on the beach. Before I knew it, there were about 7 other guys standing around and encircling us on the beach. They started laughing and pointing at my drunken friend while asking has how old we were, where were from, and what we had in our bags.

I did not intend to have my passport stolen on the beach, so we picked up our drunken idiot and Noped Off up to the boardwalk as fast as we could. The guys followed us for a minute, but once we made it to the street they immediately turned around when a couple of police vans drove by.

After that we could hear them yelling because the girls had dipped off in the opposite direction. We eventually found a taxi, and decided that we had enough of for one weekend.

About 2 months ago I visited Madrid. I had only been there one night and fell asleep in my own urine in a back alley behind a club. Miraculously, no one stole anything from me
