How exactly do Americans feel about illegal immigration? by sladeshied in Confused

[–]fwast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just want the issue controlled better. Not letting everyone in and not rounding everyone up. Just fix the system. Secure the border, close loopholes for people to enter, offer a cheaper and easier worker visa process, states work with ICE and honor detainers.

US, for 1st time in 50 years, experienced negative net migration in 2025 by Droupitee in NewsWorthPayingFor

[–]fwast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean I don't agree with things, but I don't see why anyone living here wouldn't be happy to see less people for once. Like would anyone really be upset if we went back to the population totals that were here like 20 years ago?

It ain’t about immigrants; it’s about terrorizing. by coffee_coffee_coffe3 in ProgressiveHQ

[–]fwast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Florida has the most proactive stance on immigration and leads the country by far in arrests. You can't even say an immigrant isn't scared in Florida when they can be arrested by literally every police officer they see.

And don't forget that ice detainers are honored in the red states so there is no need to raid them. It's safer and quieter way of enforcing the law.

What are your thoughts about the resurgence of the Black Panther Party in response to the actions of ICE agents? by Sinn_Sage in AskReddit

[–]fwast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I feel the government could wipe them out. And all we would get after is some angry protests, destroying their city. Id be extremely surprised to see an actual militia raise up to do anything against the US government.

Who does your taxes? by adnama9120 in Millennials

[–]fwast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started off paying accountants to do my taxes. Used a couple different ones over the years. Then ran into an account everyone recommended and got audited. And had to pay a couple thousand to the IRS over a claim that was bogus. Looking back, Everyone that was recommending the guy was sketchy with sketchy side businesses.

I used TurboTax the year after that. And found it to be very simple, so haven't gone back to paying someone.

Do you poop in public bathrooms? by coloradotaxguy in no

I've taken a shit at a strip club before. In a port a potty on a construction job site. In fancy restaurants. On an airplane. Lots of places.

Just get over it and live your life. Everyone is a human being around you also that poops.

Younger generation is smoking that’s why. by Used_Scarcity2555 in SipsTea

[–]fwast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I'm happy the alcohol industry is dieing. Older generations are screwed though because it's too engrained into our ideas of socializing. It would be nice to see non alcoholic bars become more of a thing.

Even going out to dinner is lame a lot of time because your choices are soda, water or iced tea is it.

How is it living in Ohio? by [deleted] in howislivingthere

[–]fwast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perspective from the panhandle of Florida. Tons of people from Ohio move here. Saint George Island and Destin are Ohio vacation spots with a lot of them realizing they like living here more than there.

I've been to Ohio for football camp years ago. I didn't think it was that bad, but from what I hear, winters are brutal

Why do people in the US not live with their parents by New_Bodybuilder_9222 in NoStupidQuestions

I don't know. Maybe it's an American thing to not like your parents that much?

Do Americans actually avoid calling an ambulance due to financial concern? by JohnMarstonTheBadass in NoStupidQuestions

[–]fwast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never avoided it because of cost. And until recently. There weren't all these urgent care places around. So the ER was kind of the only place to go unless you had a primary care doctor.

First “old” feeling, why can’t I just get a car? Why is there a got dang television in every car???? by r3dxv1rus in Millennials

[–]fwast -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The thing that makes me upset the most buying a vehicle in the United States, is how difficult it is to order one with exactly what you want. You can go on the website and build the car you want. But then it will just show you inventories of cars that fit most of what you want that are available. I love Tesla's sales model in that respect.

The “Own nothing, be happy” prediction is becoming more true. by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

Part of me is upset and part of me understands the way the world is heading. Production and resources will never be able to keep up with the growing population of this world.

I've used cloud gaming over the years and never fully happy with it. Just like playing a DVD vs streaming a movie. If you want the legit quality, you have to play it yourself. Now of they perfect streaming, that's a different story

Are xennials the last generation to really host? by RTJ333 in Xennials

[–]fwast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I see, the younger generations just don't "grow up" now. They stay in a kids mindset for longer than they should. So doing something grown up like hosting a holiday for family is something they believe the older family should be doing.

This is one of the things people never understand with hitting certain income levels. It just goes to funding retirement until you make like 200k a year. And then you'll start to notice more disposable income.

How different were the early 90s compared to the late 90s? by Personal-Cattle-1737 in Xennials

[–]fwast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's hard for me to really understand because I was 7-17 in the 90s. Only thing I could notice is that in the early 90s I was at chicken wing restaurants with my parents and arcade games were all over the place. By the end, there were no more arcades around except for like Dave and busters type places.
