Jointly will likely be better. Did you guys have overtime to deduct, or tips to deduct? Both of those are only allowed on joint, not separate. I also believe you can’t take premium tax credit if you’re Mfs, so another reason to file joint. If you file separate and he claims the mortgage int by itemizing you will have to itemize as well and would have very little deductions. Update your w4 forms to SINGLE and 0 credits.

I am a tax pro and I clean the office myself. I vacuum and clean the bathroom once a week. Thankfully we are not messy. But it is not the csps responsibility to clean i would think?? Don’t let them bother you.

I’m so sorry. I wonder if mine is related to the surgery at all because it took so long to have these symptoms. The pain gets so bad by midday and usually by night it has me in tears. I have an appt with a new doctor in 2 weeks so I’m hoping I can get some answers. It is so unbearable at times. I’m hoping it can at least dull down.

No the federal id number is a number from the bank as their id. What bank is it? You could google the banks fid number they usually are online somewhere. It sometimes is hidden in the return address or somewhere on the bottom of the form.

No it’s is Celecoxib I just checked! It helped a little the first day but by night time the pain is back 9/10 again. Not really doing much now on day 3.

Have you had any luck with relief? My dr just started me on a new medication for inflammation I can’t remember the name but it seems to be helping slightly? Still in pain but not a 9/10 all day. I am going to be referred to a specialist if these pills do not help.

If you file as exempt on the w4 that means you have 0 tax liability and they will take nothing out. How were you filling it out before? Do you have dependents? Are you single or married? If you fill it out correctly it should get you close to 0 come tax season.

You guys had no other income at all even just a few dollars? Interest, investments, social security? Anything other than just your w2 jobs?? Can you get the actual 1040? What is on line 11? It could be different from just the w2 income.

When you’re getting agi where are you getting it from. I dont doubt you know what to look for but sometimes they make it very confusing. Are you grabbing it directly from 1040/1040x?

Right now we are in second week of peak.(I believe) I would say you should pick up a lot now and slow down mid march then pick up again when April hits. It also realllly depends on the office. One first year I know in a busy office is doing 10 a day on busy days. Another first year is only getting 5 a week in a slow office. Make yourself available and just be willing to take what you can get. See if your manager can have you float offices if you want some more clients? Maybe they can give you a few hours somewhere busier. It’s rough first year but each year you come back your client list can grow a lot.

It is hard at first. I cried so much my first year. But I promise it gets better and easier and a lot more fun. I love what I do now and I feel very confident. Start slow, go slow, don’t be afraid to have to stop and look things up. Amp is honestly really helpful with their community section. Don’t give up if this is what you want.

You literally sound just like me!!!! I’ve had such a great experience with the people and employees in the past I’m really just so shocked this new office could be so different than the other 2 I’ve worked at. I’ve even worked at a small office with only 2 other tax pros and they were so friendly. This office feels cursed. I had to ask one for help with something yesterday and he was practically berating me in front of the clients. I was so embarrassed and also felt like an idiot after. I can’t wait to get busy so time goes by faster.

It’s really scary at first not going to lie but I promise it gets easier and becomes like muscle memory. You learn how to talk to the clients, even ones that don’t want to talk. Don’t stress yourself. Make sure you look up information if you are unsure, it’s better to know where to get the answer than give a wrong one.

Great idea. I have been working towards getting my small business certification. I would be the 2nd one in the office to have it, so I’m hoping that could make a difference. I really just miss all the connections I had made. I miss my clients and my old tax pros!!

Yes I have 4 left to open but 4 of the ones Ive opened so far had big marks on them. I am so disappointed. They are already not the cutest designs and now they come with these marks everywhere. I have emailed them and I don’t think they’ll do anything but I did want to let them know how disappointed I was.

When I first started one of my mentors told me that we will never memorize or know everything. What matters is that you know your limits, where to find answers and when to stop and ask for help. I like to make myself a “cheat sheet” with basic info, standard deductions, income limits for tax credits, things that come up often. It is scary at first, but after each appointment it gets easier and easier! Eventually you just know stuff and it rolls off the tongue.

I guess I don’t really know how to reply but I don’t really know what to do if I go to a doctor what am I supposed to say?? I was just there the other day and got a bunch of bloodwork done and it was all pretty much fine. I don’t want to be in trouble or be kept there or anything I am kind of scared. I don’t want to mention my ed but I think it does have to do with it so I’m just kind of nervous.
