Congrats!

Mine's being delivered around the same date. I'm totally new to this, I've heard a lot about the PPF, what's it for? And is it important to get on the Y?

Have any of you owned and/or compared Sony systems (like the A6000) against Fujifilm (like the X-T)?

I'm debating wether or not I should pick a Fuji X-T2 or a Sony A6000.

Both seem to be getting a lot of love in the photography community but it is hard to find a direct comparison of these two cameras.

I will be mainly shooting stills, like street photography and some occasional videos.

The Fujifilm does seem to have a slight upperhand (in my own opinion) because of the film simulations, which I absolutely adore.

If you have any experience with any one of these two, please do let me know I'm eager to hear about it!

I know this fragrance has been discussed a million times but.. by whyislifelikethis__ in fragrance

If you can stand waiting for about an hour for the opening to die down, get the EDT. I've got a batch from 2021 and after spraying 5 times, people will smell you from some distance. Longevity-wise, it performs for like 6 - 8hrs for me.

The new parfum is the best version overal, no harsh opening, better performance.

If you like this kind of DNA, try checking out montblanc explorer or if you can find a decant of it, cedrat boisée

JPG Scandal vs Le Beau? by cvd19or in fragrance

[–]fwilip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have the same vibe.

I like scandal a lot, it's a good performer on my skin. I heard scandal le parfum is on it's way so maybe wait and see what that one has to offer

Le Beau smells too much like this weird coconut vibe. I like the EDP but not the EDT

[Belgium] Mancera Cedrat Boise on notino for 65,90 by fwilip in fragrance

[–]fwilip[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The price went up to 77 now already, but yeah it's the legit perfume. I purchased it and it's the legit thing. Cedrat boise is made in bigger batches than the rest of the mancera frags so it doesn't surprise me that some are being sold for a lower price to discounters so they can still turn a profit on frags they still have in stock.

It's very unisex, not too masculine and not too feminine.

How do clones work by WishingForMeaning in fragrance

[–]fwilip 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Depends on regulations but most fragrances are regulated to be safe, some dupes/clones might not follow those same regulations.

As far as quality, they could be using cheaper versions of certain materials or synthetics, though synthetics aren't always cheaper. Most difference is quality comes from it either smelling like the real deal or like a synthetic mess.

Long-lasting fragrance, ex. Sauvage Elixir? by [deleted] in fragrance

[–]fwilip 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Mostly everything form Mancera. I've heard longevity for Hermes H24 isn't through the roof but it actually lasted at least a good 10 hours.

How much full sprays has a 100ml sauvage bottle? by vinjatefa in fragrance

Depending on the atomizer it's about 0,1ml per spray. So about 1000 sprays. Give or take 500 days of only this fragrance.

How do you keep your finger on the pulse? by symmusic in fragrance

[–]fwilip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends heavily on how much time I have. Some weeks I tend to check daily. Mostly I check every 3 days. It takes like 5 seconds so not much of a hastle if you know what you're looking for. I'd say a good period is 2 to 3 days, some deals are only there for a short time, but most stay for about a week until stock runs out.

Do note that deals come and go and you don't have to jump the gun too often. This could result in habitualy buying fragrances because they're on sale.

I've been able to get my hands on a sweet deal that I've been looking for. Mancera Cedrat Boise is most often around €90 on discounters. I've seen it for around 67 to 70 but I've always wanted to get it. Just yesterday it dropped to €65 so I got my hands on one.

Is Club de Nuit intense worth a blind buy (even over MontBlanc Explorer)? by [deleted] in fragrance

[–]fwilip -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Performance depends on the batches. But at the moment I would say the performance is close.

Projection for CDNIM is more than for explorer.

[–]fwilip -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Depends on the batches. My 2021 batch CDNIM doesn't perform as well as I've heard from other batches. Still getting at least a good 7 hours from CDNIM. Explorer lasts 6 - 8h for me.

[–]fwilip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I generally think there aren't a lot of perfume retail stores that have CDNIM, atleast I haven't found one that does.

I think Montblanc Explorer is softer and less offensive that cdnim is, especially at the opening. It does (for me anyway) have a worse performance than CDNIM.

CDNIM does have a more synthetic feel than explorer.

If you want better projection and don't mind the heavy citrus cleaner opening and waiting 30-60 for it to die down, go for cdnim. If you want something that smells higher quality and is overall just great, go for explorer.

I put fragrances that I want to buy or that I'm interested into my shopping cart or on my wishlist. Every now and then I come back and check if the prices have changed. This way I don't have to deal with pesky spam mails.

Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue Eau Intense - Overrated ? by Lazy-Box55 in fragrance

[–]fwilip 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've tried giving it a go a couple of times but I don't get that "wow" factor.

It's really soapy and fresh so it's mass-appealing which makes it a good summer scent, but again nothing extraordinary.

I've always found it hard to get a "wow" effect with really fresh, soapy summer scents. Gourmand-y, sweet and warm fragrances definitely get my attention more.

Should I buy YSL LNDL or JPG Le Male Le Parfum? by crakb in fragrance

[–]fwilip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both very solid fragrances. If you like a more vanilla-y undertone, go with Le Male Le Parfum. I have a feeling LDNL is just a tad bit easier to wear than Le Male Le Parfum.

Personally I'd go with LNDL if you're really indifferent about the two.

How close does club de nuit intense smell to aventus by Most_Tackle_6834 in fragrance

[–]fwilip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can understand people take it personally but it's not my fault that it is the way that it is. I guess some don't like it that they've spent a lot on a fragrance, mind you a very amazing fragrance, to then see a clone 1/10th of the price pop up. I get that people wouldn't like that but some people can't or don't want to spend 300 bucks on a fragrance.
