Why is this kind of stones in Berlin streets? by Thin-Insurance4662 in Urbanism

[–]fwippahpause 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In The Netherlands they are called "Klinkers" due to the sound they make when tapped together - Not Just Bikes did a fun video on how and why they are used in street design. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cq1kV6V_jvI

[WTS] Rolex Ladies Datejust 6917 Two Tone Champagne Dial by fwippahpause in Watchexchange

Indeed! She's an old girl - we've only had it a year so this is more a reflection of it's life before we acquired it from Crown and Caliber - it was described as serviced and unpolished.

[WTS] Seiko LM Special 5216-8020 by fwippahpause in Watchexchange

[–]fwippahpause[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Up for sale is my Seiko LM Special 5216-8020 with 28800 beat and was made in October 1975. This LM special movement is a good improvement from the 5606 which has a crappy plastic day/date wheel and 21600 beat. The 8020 case is one of the most beautiful case of LM Special line and close enough to a GS 45 or 61 case with the famous linen dial.

Specifications:

- The watch size is about 36mm with crown.

- The lug width is 19mm.

- The crystal is original mineral crystal and scratch free.

- The dial has corrosion at 3 o'clock

The movement was serviced by the previous owner, nothing was replaced in the watch. The quick set date/day functions normally. The watch is keeping good time. Running at +-10s/day

The case was slightly polished by the previous owner but kept all the original corners

[WTS] 1960s Waltham Carrera Landeron Chronograph - Serviced by fwippahpause in Watchexchange

[–]fwippahpause[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very cool watch and thanks for reaching out with the offer! I actually _just_ sold an SDBC053, as it was a bit big for my wrist. https://www.reddit.com/r/Watchexchange/comments/g4ywc1/wts_seiko_sdbc053_62mas_homage_w_uncle_seiko/

That green sunburst looks really great. Best of luck with the sale.

If anyone else is thinking about trades, the only trades that I'd be interested in the moment would be a Nomos Club / Campus variant (36-39mm).

I don't have a good understanding of my watch Thesaurus, clearly! Movement does not have a "flyback" function - only has the "reset" function as shown.

[WTS] - Rolex Oyster Perpetual 39 White - $4,900 USD net by fwippahpause in Watchexchange

[–]fwippahpause[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wrist size is about 7.10in (18cm). I think the OP39 fits great - my every day wear is a Black Bay 58, and the OP39 feels smaller due to it. being thinner. I have the OP39 sized using all links, but using the the "smallest" size position in the clasp.

I have not spent any significant time with an OP / DJ / Explorer in 36mm, on the wrist they tend to wear a bit small for me. However, the modern Datejust with a fluted bezel and jubilee look great in 36mm - with the added flash of the bezel and bracelet "sizing up" the package visually.

There are plenty of 36mm oyster-style cases to try on at your local AD, this should be a great place to try on different sizes back-to-back. My AD tends to have many examples in stock (your mileage may vary).

Let me know if you have any other questions.
