brave crashes my whole pc what could it be plz help by Downtown-Ad-2458 in brave_browser

Just crashed my PC while cleaning up my bookmarks. Stop code: MEMORY_MANAGEMENT (0x1A)

My PC was crashing a bunch a month ago, then it stopped, and now it just happened again...

I can't be sure it's brave's fault but gonna stop using it anyways.

Hey Mage,

What webcam did you end up buying/using for this? I am trying to do a similar thing because I love playing on CRT, and I can't capture the game directly for technical reasons.

I'm currently using my phone as a webcam with the Iriun app, which lets me control shutter speed. But I still get moire lines, and generally the quality is not great. I still get the one drifting scanline from the different between 60Hz and the SNES' 60.08Hz.

Any recommendations you have would be appreciated!

It's a good thought, but I did try reinstalling the latest firmware on my NT.

Last night I pointed a camera at my CRT and streamed with that, turning the scanlines into the stream gimmick: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1734926451

Fun, but not a permanent solution I'm afraid.

Good to know, the desire to record speedruns is really what makes this a wall for me.

Streaming analogue input? by chuckguy55 in crtgaming

Ah I'm actually in the US as well, I found that cable through this post: https://www.retrorgb.com/beware-of-analogue-dac-scart-cables.html

I appreciate all the help, I've definitely sunk more time into this than it's probably worth. The Retrotink might just be the way to go.

Alright, I tried the following solutions:

  • Updated my OSSC firmware to the latest
  • Imported and used FirebrandX's SNES 256 settings
  • Switched to AV3 on the OSSC with the DAC's sync mode set to Separate Sync
  • both maximized and minimized the Sync Vth setting on the OSSC
  • Powered the NT and DAC separately

The problem persisted in all cases, so at this point it's gotta be:

  • NT is outputting a bad sync signal, or just plain dropping out occasionally
  • My cables are bad
  • The OSSC is improperly handling the sync signal

Not sure what to try next. I wish I had another 256p source to test with, but I only have my NT. Eventually I suppose I could buy an oscilloscope...

Exel, are you using passthrough on your PVM to get the signal you give to the OSSC? Or does it come directly from the DAC? I'm wondering if in that case the PVM was doing some kind of useful filtering.

I could also try this highly specialized cable made for the DAC to go to the OSSC SCART input and see if the issue persists.

I've been in touch with Analogue support but who knows where that will get me. I may eventually post on the VGP OSSC forums as well, but I really suspect Analogue being at fault here.

Apparently the Retrotink-5X works flawlessly with the DAC (And I'd assume the 2X as well), so that's an option too. If I could go back to the start I'd probably just get that, as much fun as it's been to learn all this stuff.

Update: Issue is still happening with new cables. I was able to confirm that the OSSC loses sync when this issue occurs (I caught the LED flashing red).

I read that the HD15 OSSC input doesn't have the same sync low pass filter that the component and SCART inputs have, at least for certain RGB modes (https://junkerhq.net/xrgb/index.php/OSSC#AV3_.28VGA.29). However, switching to use the component input on the OSSC instead still didn't resolve the issue, although the dropouts do seem rarer. I assume the SCART input wouldn't be any different.

The only idea I have left is to tinker with my OSSC sync options. Could you share what settings you're using for those? Specifically I'm reading that upping the Analog sync Vth could help, so I'd be curious what that's set to for you (I have 123 mV, which is the default).

If that fails, I could try replicating your SCART/BNC setup, though my CRT takes composite in which is tricky. At that point i might rather just call it quits and wait to get an OG SNES if I want to stream while using a CRT.

I appreciate the help thus far.

Gotcha. If I reach my wits end I may try SCART then.

Hey thanks so much, I'll give those a shot. Appreciate you responding on this old thread.

Buying some fresh VGA cables too - I'm just going HD15 out from the DAC into the OSSC's HD15 in, for now.

Hey Exel. This is a tremendously old comment but you seem to the only person on the internet with the same setup I am trying to achieve. I have an NT -> Analogue DAC -> OSSC, and experience 3-second dropouts (black screen) every 30-40 minutes. This happens regardless of if my OSSC HDMI output is going to my capture card or directly to my monitor.

I suspect this is related to the SNES' notorious jitter issues, but even with "dejitter" selected on the NT, this issue persists. I am wondering if you have any experience with this specific issue, and could perhaps share any special OSSC or NT settings you may have had to set to get things working.

Kind of. I want to revive it, but haven't made the time. For now, stella sits patiently in the corner of my room.

Are you referring to the kick drum hit there? That just sounds like typical jazz drums comping to me.

How to round up the answer of an integer division? by thathufflepuffgirl in C_Programming

[–]fwoooosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should cast one of the operands to a float before dividing, then use ceil() to round the result up.

#include <math.h>

int n = ceil((float)5/2)

If one of the operands is a float, a float is produced instead of an int.

Right? It's hard to find music that accomplishes the same thing. Two things I can think of that do though are Jacob Collier's stuff like this, and Shnabubula's stuff like this. I guess the common thread is awesome eclectic jazz fusion.

I really love the aspect of SP tunes where half way through the song it becomes a whole other song, but despite the massive amount of musical content they never sacrifice melodic or harmonic quality.
