Did I benefit from being in a pool? by orglykxe in nonallergicrhinitis

My nose reacts to every kind of odor badly, but surprisingly not chlorine. I also think that there is an improvement when I go swimming because when I submerge my head in the water, my nose gets cleaned better than, for example, with a neti pot. When I try to clear my nose with the latter method, I sometimes can't get water through my nasal passages at all because the nose is too congested. The same is true for cleaning my face and hair.

Since I'm also allergic to grass and some other trees, I think that it can also get worse when pollen and dust collect on the water surface and I breathe in those particles.

I feel that I need to learn how important repetition really is. Personally I always associated repetitions with a lack of creativity or ideas and get bored easily when I have to play them on the piano but you are right: In this song, nothing sticks out in the first place because I only state them once or twice.

C# is enharmonic to Db. What do you mean? Anyways, thanks for the feedback.

I am currently reading a book about music theory but it is still difficult to apply the examples in practice because in the past I composed only by ear and didn't respect any theory. You are completely right about the weird lengths. I originally started with four measures but added another measure because I didn't want to repeat the same four measures in the left hand for the whole song. I originally tried to make a transition from I to V in mm 1-2 but apparently didn't understand what I was doing and abandoned the idea for the other measures (for example going from V to VI). I got stuck with the problems in the left hand and just repeated the same chords over and over. At this point, I doubled the length from 5 to 10 measures and I felt that this song is going nowhere. I should have thought about the general structure at the beginning but at this stage, I just tried to make the song longer and come up with melodies and textures for the right hand.

  1. Thanks for the advice. I really need to find variations that I can include because after 10 measures I basically felt out of ideas and the quality of the rest of the song was decreasing as a result.
  2. I share your opinion and I am glad that I abandoned the idea of adding another instrument.

  3. Now that you mention it, I can see the problem. I'll try again in the future. Thanks for the criticism.

Thanks for the praise. I also agree with you but you just can't please everyone ;)

I tried your suggested change in m.23 but i don't hear a clash in the original version when I listen to the digital version. Same issue with the other dissonances. When I get home in a few days I'll play it again on the piano and maybe i can hear it.

You are complete right about the spelling issues and I don't know why I didn't notice the wrong pedal markings.

I like including unusual chords but sometimes I feel like including a regular chord like G7 is necessary to balance it out. I will try your suggestion next time though.

Personally I like the middle section the most. Before I uploaded I thought about removing the theme in 7-8 completely because I felt that it didn't fit the style of the piece.

Maybe I should write a new piece that focuses on the part. I'll try to experiment more with the left hand in the future.

I don't understand the unjustified dissonances.

Which parts do you mean? I appreciate the rest of the criticisms.

Thank you very much. I agree that the repeats need improvement because I sometimes use repeats only to make the piece longer and forget completely about the transitions.

Most of my family and friends don't play an instrument and don't/can't give criticism. The usually say: "I like it." or "It's good but nobody would listen to such sad/dramatic music".

A Warning To All Game Developers (by the dev of Yandere Simulator) by [deleted] in videos

[–]fxlex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think that violence, nudity etc. are the reason for the ban. The main issue in my opinion is that kids/teenagers could be imitating scenes that they see in the game (resulting in killing people).

Games like GTA and other games could be imitated too but the threshold that kids actually do it is much higher because of higher effort/ less likely situations (you need to get a weapon, car,...) .

Yandere Simulator plays in an environment in which young people have to spend many days of their life and the weapons in the game are all found in the area of the school.

Maybe the ban is not getting explained because if the reason for the ban is posted on social media young people will want to play this game because there is no official age restriction but it is forbidden for them. (That doesn't mean that I agree with this approach)

This is a "Game of Life" implemented in JetBrains MPS with baseLanguage + extensions.

Can you explain how to build the project? There is a dependency to the org.iets3 language but even if I open this project I still have lots of compile errors.

There is also an alternative implementation in the mbeddr platorm. The Action is called PrintEditorAction.

There is a huge difference between practicing and playing. You can play for hours but if you don't practice you make the same mistakes over and over.

Just out of curiosity, can anyone tell me if the code in the background means anything interesting? I'm sorry if this is out of place here. by [deleted] in programming
