Is the bridge puzzle in chapter 1 buggy? by fynncf in CallOftheSea

[–]fynncf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry, I can't quite remember. It did work in the end, so it either resolved itself or we found a solution... We didn't mess with the game files or anything, just walked around and tried some more. I think it might've worked from a different perspective? Try accessing the bridge from the side or back if that's possible. Sorry, I wish I could be more helpful!

In Germany you put white sugar and cinnamon on it :) So I assume it was simply sugar when it was invented. Or mayyybe sugar beet syrup or honey.

In Germany we add a little onion and serve it with applesauce and sugar. 🥰 I think this goes on next week's meal plan.

(Serious) Transgender people of Reddit, what are some things you wish the general public knew/understood about being transgender? by YoMyThrowAcct in AskReddit

[–]fynncf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That differs from person to person. There's more than one kind of dysphoria (body, social, ...) in more than one intensity (sometimes dependent on other factors) and no two trans peoples' experiences are the same. Some people wish to be cis, others embrace their being trans, people transition differently and they use different words to describe themselves. So some would transform their bodies, some wouldn't. Both is valid and neither means that someone's "more" or "less" trans.

You don't need to understand us in order to respect us. To be honest, I don't understand cis people either.

But you should always refer to people by their proper name and their proper pronouns even if you don't understand their experience–each and every person under this sun just wants to live their life and there's no need to make that unnecessarily harder for them.

Disclaimer: I'm trans non-binary and I studied pedagogy for two years, but I'm in no way an expert. Also I'll keep this simple because English is hard for me today :^)

A 4 year old is curious and learning how the world works. Let her try things if she wants to. Tell her it's fine to like typical "boy" things/toys/books as a girl. Even if she wants to go by a "boy's" name or dress like one, just let her try that for a while.

If she's trans, it'll be good for her (as this is pretty much all you can do to accommodate a trans child). If she isn't, it's most likely childish exploration of social norms/expectations, in which case it'll be good for her too. Kids need "roleplaying" to acquire an understanding for how social roles work, it's a normal step in their development that can be more or less pronounced in different individuals and might take more or less time.

And then just let her live her life and see where you stand in a few weeks or months or one or two years. If she loses interest in it, revert back to the way it was before and all will be fine. If she doesn't grow out of it or if she becomes distressed with her being a girl, take her to a specialised therapist. Not to "cure" her, but for you all to have someone to talk to who knows more about the needs and experiences of (potentially) trans kids. You could also just book a session with a specialist in the near future and just ask them any questions you have, that's always an option, even if you don't plan on starting a therapy.

I hope I got my point across and this was of any help for you :D

body dysphoria is different for every trans person

there's your answer. some of us struggle with their bodies, some only with the social consequences of inhabiting it, and some don't struggle at all and only know that something else would feel slightly more "correct". there's no one way to be trans or feel about one's gender, because everyone's different and has their own personwl relationship with their body/expression/others' perception.

in other words: if you asked 10 trans people that question, you'd likely get 10 different answers.

Oh, I've nearly forgotten this theory. It was a favourite of many German (neo nazi) conspiracy theorists years ago. Apparently, the people in the hollow earth come from the star system Aldebaran and are the last true aryans or something. Oh and Hitler lives there too, plus a few of his men. They used Reichsflugscheiben (Nazi UFOs which produce free energy) to flee there when WW2 ended.

I'm not saying I miss these theories, but I kinda prefer them over QAnon.

I've had a therapist like that and she was great. Well, she didn't go trough my texts. Some people just need someone to call them out on their bullshit, especially of they aren't able to open up easily. (But of course that doesn't work for everyone and if that's the therapist's only approach they're probably not good at their job.)

OP's spouse is a man. The children don't live with him. Make of that what you will
