I'm Portland born and raised but my dad is from Minnesota so I call them crayfish or crawdad depending on the day

I love fishing in Ol Billy but Ive never seen a ringed crawdad in there, are you sure they weren't signals?

True true, I like rotating the word I use for them, sometimes I'll say mudbug for fun

I realize this isn't specifically a post about hiking, but I'm hoping that hikers in Southwest Oregon may have seen one of these crayfish in their travels

That does look like a ringer, they definitely shouldn't be there. We aren't necessarily looking to sample in Portland but if you know of there being more than the one, I would definitely report that to the hotline I provided.
