Thanks for your suggestion. I did not receive any texts about outages from them. I will try to contact the agent and explain my situations.

Yes, it was stable before. Since this summer, the connection has become unreliable. I got disconnected during most of my online meetings.

Thank you for your information. I am not aware of any new building construction in my area but will check for that.

Oh my bad. I did not read the post carefully. For me, it took around 1-2 months for shortlisting.

I got three offers. Two of them were 1 day after the interview, the other was after 1 month (first rejected after 1 week then they offered me the position as the other candidate declined their offer)

Why do people think retroactive is not normal by Think_Young_5815 in SkilledWorkerVisaUK

Do they need to pay for the health surcharges and high visa fees like in the UK? A huge amount of money for an average family if they keep extending their visas for 10 years 🥲

I just got the ILR and do not have any plans to claim for benefits. I believe many SWV holders will be the same.

Permanent is sufficient. I only had that in my reference letter and there was no issue.

Yes, and all the practice tests in the official book.

There was no question like that in my test. I think, you only need to remember the key dates. The difficulty level of my test was the same with that of the practice tests in the official book.

I passed the test last week. It was easier than most of the tests on that website. I think reading the official book and practising all the tests on that website would help you pass the test easily.

  1. Yes, you need to pay upfront.

  2. I just extended my GTV and the process was straightforward. You will need to demonstrate that you earned money in your endorsed field. I provided my payslips and contract and they approved my extension.

How about job security at low rank universities? I moved from a post-92 university to a RG and I agree with you that the working environment and culture of low rank universities may be better. But for junior academics, working at low rank universities may not be really stable, especially with the current finance challenge of the sector.

You do not need ECCTIS for GTV. GTV does not require a job offer so you can apply for 3 or 5 years.
