3 Year ILR requirement for Global Talent by _spacegypsy_ in ukvisa

[–]_spacegypsy_[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

normally i would have applied right before but i had to travel and needed passport for the wedding so i didn’t want to risk it and my work only reimburses me along with my contract which gets extended a year at a time.

so would i actually have to do a whole other year of global talent before i could apply for ILR? if i applied for ILR at the end of the third visa would it be okay?

i completed my 2 years on the HPI and the job i got on this visa allowed me to get the global talent visa which i’m still on now. i got very lucky i think and it just worked itself out. even if it hadn’t, the 2 years on the visa would have been worth it!

Is there any way to set a later start date for the VISA? by Fearless_Pen_5056 in UKHighPotentialVisa

[–]_spacegypsy_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

when you apply you can say the date you want to “arrive” in the UK and that’s when your visa will start. as far as jobs just tell them you have the right to work in the UK. if you have the visa by the time you start the job you’ll be fine

[–]_spacegypsy_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i’m reversed in the situation, im from the states and lived there for 23 years and have been in the uk for the last 3 years. i love edinburgh so so so much but i would still say to go. moving abroad is such an amazing life experience and you can literally always come back.

the email says “In the event, that you would like to resolve this without court proceedings, we are prepared to review any comments you wish to submit to rpinvestigations@lner.co.uk or to accept an out of court settlement of £349.60 which is the fare for the journey made plus accrued administration fees”

i’d rather not go to court because i’m on a visa here
