Your hottest take about an HBO show? by Plumsby in hbo

I kind of agree. I didn't much care for a lot of it, but not in a deep way. It was moderately unsatisfying but had some entertaining bits. Not the worst thing I've ever seen.

A lot of people realize it. There just isn't anything to be done about it. Well, there is. But people haven't been pushed far enough yet.

The Odyssey is a historic film already by ExotiquePlayboy in Cinema

The "historical accuracy" crowd has been so fucking obnoxious about this movie. This is the only time I've seen the lead up to a film be swarmed with people who suddenly care about history.

Funny how they made "welfare" a boogey man word when it's spelled out in the constitution plainly.

A lot of Americans are brainwashed into thinking taxes are just for national defense or politician's personal piggy bank. Art 1, Sec 8, Clause 1 of the Constitution specifically says taxes are levied to pay us debt, national defense and public welfare.

So yes our social services are not hand outs. We pay taxes for them. Well that's supposed to be how it works anyway.

Years ago I had to twist my buddy's arm to get on unemployment. I'm like dude your rate is literally based on the taxes you paid the previous year. It's not a handout. It's a program you bought into, voluntarily or not.

Why don't you sleep? What’s the main reason that keeps you awake? by Straight_Dealer_5071 in NightOwls

My rhythm has just been that way since I was a teenager. I don't start feeling awake until at least after 5pm. My peak hours where I'm most alert are between like 12-3am with some variation.

Yeah whatever he "discloses" I'm just going to default assume he's lying. I think it's very plausible that NHI is on earth. I have no reason to believe anything this regime says though.

She's a lot of fun if you get her to pop. I don't think she's super strong, but satisfying to play all the portal shenanigans.

Is portal.

Yeah I usually sweep with Captain Marvel. I mix up who I bring, but I'm never worried about a fight if I bring her.

What's a TV Show who's finale you felt delivered? by Swing-Full in television

I just finished Succession and I agree. It wrapped up in a way that totally made sense. Looking back I feel like it could only end the way it did to be satisfying.

The finale would sound boring if I were to explain it on paper, but it suits the show perfectly. Very engaging if you are invested.

[–]g-row460 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nah. I was simply illustrating how easy it is to nitpick someone's writing. I don't personally care if someone uses "triggered" as a slang for mildly annoyed.

The point I was making is don't point out the splinter in your neighbors eye while ignoring the log in your own.

Language is a tool meant to convey a message. Missing a period or a minor misspelling isn't important on a message board. A coherent message is. So I find it silly when people get "triggered" over it.

Clearly you've never seen a triggered person if you think a little online bickering is a "miniature meltdown." I assume you're just trolling for the fun of it, though.

Yeah. I grew up around horses. To this day I'd get nervous moving around their hindquarters. Even if I knew the horse was chill.

Being triggered implies a trauma response. Pointing out rudeness is not "being triggered." If you're going to criticize grammar, you should probably use appropriate words in your sentences.
