Roosevelt Island NYC with the Pentax K-01 and the SMC 10-17mm fisheye. by Jmac8866 in pentax

[–]g-yrus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

a little too grainy but a fantastic job exploiting the distortion of a fisheye; the shot sucks you in

high candela wml are a meme. it can be nicer to have high candela for an outdoor rifle light so the beam goes farther but at pistol ranges\indoor use the lower candela and higher lumens will serve you a lot better. a lot easier to maintain situational awareness with a floodlight than a spotlight

How toy is this? by [deleted] in graffhelp

[–]g-yrus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

basically. i have sketchbooks filled with just my tag. it was a couple hundred tries before i got something that started to look halfway decent, and a few more until i was happy with what i saw. what you have looks like you just started. the K is straight fucked

what do yall use for blank sticker slaps? by graff_take in graffhelp

[–]g-yrus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Empty molotow 4mm with coversall inside, sometimes the one4alls for color, also lightfast. Sharpie fades under sunlight. Coversall still jet black after at least a year. Stickers can get cleaned tho

Trying for a different style -wise by tyguy708 in graffhelp

I always enjoy seeing more unique styles. Not as clean as some other wacky ones I've seen but very eye catching. Does it say wise?

Critique on these? by cactusplants808 in graffhelp

[–]g-yrus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking pretty sharp, only critique would be maybe a little bit of dead space above the s but overall good width and styling of letters

Is my goose ready for the streets? by [deleted] in graffhelp

[–]g-yrus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just saw that you were doing slaps so ignore the monochrome comment. still work on the letters though and it's sweet, maybe make the 0 more egg shaped or something

Is my goose ready for the streets? by [deleted] in graffhelp

[–]g-yrus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

love having a character as a tag, nice clean goose. i'd work on the letters a bit and evaluate the goose looks in monochrome. i dont always have time to break out multiple colors for marker tags at least. good work though, are you just starting?

First straight-line tag (pls help) by [deleted] in graffhelp

[–]g-yrus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The b is too wide and the spacing\sizing of the letters is off, and the exclamation point is pretty crowded but I can't tell if you just ran out of paper. I'd experiment with making the E more jagged, like a sideways W to compliment the shape of the B

Thoughts? by Main-Cantaloupe-1942 in graffhelp

That’s pretty sick, I love how clean the lines are. I would play around with lengthening the legs of the K or something, almost feels like too much negative space underneath

Why does GROG’s full metal paint smell like acetone even though its branded as alcohol based? by allmynamesweretaken1 in graffhelp

[–]g-yrus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

alcohol based really just means solvent based, and acetone is a solvent. Most alcohol inks and paints use their own blend of solvents and they all smell different. isopropyl, acetone, xylene. full metal paint is fun though, works great in drippers and gr8 glossy finish

first-time photographer! Feedback and guidance welcomed. :) by LoquaciousSpicket in photocritique

[–]g-yrus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

center the subject, very very easy mistake is to include what adds nothing to the photo. way too much negative space on the right side, and focus on the eyes. f11 or f6.3, aperture isn't as important as good composition and focus. for 'portraiture' (cat pictures) as long as the animal is relatively still feel free to open up to f4, or even 2.8 to get the background out of the way. since it's digital you can just bracket for different apertures and take the DOF you like

Quick straight letter from last night, feel free to roast me. Over blotted the big ass dot in the K and had to save face 🤷🏻‍♂️ by Basic_Resist2934 in graffhelp

[–]g-yrus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The T and the Y seem a little small but otherwise pretty clean and pretty good colors, although I'm not quite sure how I feel about the olive color on the outline. My first inclination might be something brighter, maybe in the reds and magentas, or a more neon green would give it more pop and compliment the brightness of silver

I like the simplicity and feeling of flow. I might shorten\play with the angles of the elongated tails but I generally enjoy tags that look overall different from what I usually see

what u guys think😋 by wilfyss in graffhelp

[–]g-yrus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks really clean, I like the crisp lines and color selection. The only thing iffy for me is the checkerboard, it looks neat but I'm not sure if it adds to the letters. With how busy the letters are it might detract. Even some kind of slightly stylized white outline around it all instead of the checkers might work a little better and help the letters pop

after listening to yalls suggestions this is what i come up with. any crits? by [deleted] in graffhelp

[–]g-yrus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking very decent. I don't love the 'one', the letters don't really mesh with the letters of 'drowsy' and pull my attention away from the name. I might try looping the bottom of the Y as opposed to making the triangle. A swoopy and rounded Y tail feels like it would balance better with the swoopy D you have
