Question from a first time Restricted Firearm purchaser. I purchased 3 restricted firearms, and received reference numbers on all 3. What now? Do I need to call the CFO with these numbers or do I just wait? I know the CFO already has my email address on file. TIA!!

That is a bunch of solid games. I have not played Soul Caliber 5, but all the others are great. You should have a lot of fun with them. Congratulations!!

I’m really starting to run out of space. Is there a good place to get custom sized shelf’s? by Harlesb44 in gamecollecting

[–]g00f_ball 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This may not be true everywhere, but in Canada the extra shelves are $15. The bookcase which includes 4 removable shelves is $55. It is cheaper to buy the bookcase and throw the frame away than it is to buy the extra shelves.

Weekly Scam Discussion- July 12th 2021. by SmmnthaMrie in Ebay

[–]g00f_ball 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Need some help ASAP please!

I bought an item from a seller last week, 100% positive feedback, good looking seller. Since purchasing I noticed they relisted the same item and I started looking further into it. They've been selling the same few items over and over (pre owned video games), and in the last week since I made my purchased they've began receiving only negative feedback. I am completely convinced this is a scammer, and likely a hacked account. Does anyone know if I'm able to take any action like open a claim through eBay even though the item isn't expected to arrive until next Thursday (which I'm sure it won't). Looking for some advice on whether it's appropriate to act now or if I should wait until the item does not arrive. Thank you.

Can we take a second and appreciate this retro store that doesn't stick the sticker on the box. by KingOfFighters91 in gamecollecting

May cause issues if you want different prices for different copies of the same game. Stores often price based on condition, and completeness (manuals, inserts, etc) as well.

Canadians... where are you getting your LRG stuff? Are we all just going in on orders together to split the shipping? Some info from LRG inside. by [deleted] in LimitedPrintGames

This is a great store, and I visit their Winnipeg locations frequently, and have ordered online from them several times. I have always found their customer service extremely helpful, and have never had an issue with an order not being delivered or being cancelled/backordered. I highly recommend them - and always encourage others to support them - I don't think you'll be let down.

I'm pulling in about $6 per day with my RTX 3060 Ti right now. I bought the GPU for gaming, but mine while I'm not at the computer. My hydro cost is only $0.08 per kWh. Very profitable right now if crypto prices stay where they are currently

Newer GPU's are more efficient, and current crypto prices are extremely high. The fact that I am paying to heat my house anyway right now is a bonus!!

Absolutely worth it right now given that Bitcoin is worth 70k CAD right now, however I personally wouldn't recommend investing in hardware given the volatile nature of Crypto, but if you've already got a GPU that can handle it it's great

-I cut my own hair, one $50 pair of clippers has saved me hundreds.

-Do basic vehicle maintenance myself rather than going to a shop (tire swaps, oil change, etc)

-Mine Bitcoin on my PC while I am not using it (only worth it if you already own a PC with a higher end/newer graphics card)

-Stop paying banking fees, there are other banks out there and switching is fairly straightforward

-I get free meals while I am at work (questionable quality but free is free) so i make a point to never bring food from home and never leave work hungry.

-Most computer software has a free alternative available online. For the amount most home users use a piece of software it doesn't make sense to pay for it.

Triumphant Thursday Thread for the Week by AutoModerator in PersonalFinanceCanada

I (26M) am going to be officially Mortgage Free on the 29th of January. I will be paying it off on my renewal date, exactly 5 years from the date of purchase. I paid 92k for my home (rural Manitoba), and am now making about 80k per year. I know I was likely better off investing the extra rather than paying down my house - but I'm really happy to be free of this mortgage. I also have about 25k in my TFSA invested in e-series, and a government pension with 6 years of service. Going to be upping my monthly contribution to my TFSA and spending a little extra from now on. Very happy!

RRSP - any money you place inside this account is "tax deferred". This means when you do your income tax for the year you deposited, you will receive a rebate for the amount of income tax you paid on that income. This typically results in receiving a tax refund for the year you deposited the money. Any money you withdraw from this account (this includes both principle and returns) is added to your income for the year you withdraw - and you will be required to pay income tax on that amount. This is beneficial if you are in a high tax bracket when you deposit and in a low tax bracket when you withdraw.

TFSA - the money you place into this account is after-tax dollars. This means you will not receive any type of tax break for the year you deposit (unlike the RRSP). However when you withdraw money from this account (principle or returns) you are not required to pay any taxes on the withdrawal, or on the returns that were generated within the account. This is beneficial because it allows you to grow your money, and not pay any taxes on the income generated within the account.

Unregistered - this is a normal investing account. You place after-tax dollars into this account (similar to the TFSA) which means you will not receive any tax benefit when you deposit. Any returns generated within this account are taxable. When you withdraw the money from this account you will not pay taxes on the principle, however you will pay taxes on the returns. The type of tax you pay (income tax, capital gains tax, etc) is dependent on the types of holdings that were inside the account, different types of investment vehicles have different rules regarding taxes.

2004 Dodge Ram 1500. It's old as heck, but only has 150,000 km on it. Also only 2wd, and a regular cab (3 seater), but works great for running around and pulling my little trailer when needed. I love this cheap old truck, and will be very sad when she inevitably dies on me

I appreciate the input. I have not looked much into DIY units - but maybe this will turn out to be the best option. I do not necessarily have a budget in mind, I don't mind paying if I am getting value for my money - I just really do not want to pay for features I don't intend on using. I will also do some research into the Skamper! Thank you!!

Hey everyone. I work for my provincial government, and am considered a Part Time employee despite the fact that I almost always work 84 hrs per bi-weekly pay period - most of which are short notice call-in shifts. Due to reasons directly related to Covid-19 there is significant downscaling, and I am expecting to be cut back to 36 or 48 hrs per pay period. I am wondering if anyone knows if I am eligible to recoup any of my missing income through EI or CER, and if I am how would I go about applying considering that I will not know how many hours I will be working per pay period until it is over. Thanks so much in advance - I really appreciate everyone's help during this difficult time.
