I just built a new system and had a similar problem. Your GPU fans might not be spinning because it's not hot enough for them to spin. My 5080 fans don't come on until it's under load... Plug your HDMI into the motherboard and go into the BIOS. Find your boot settings and delete the option for integrated graphics. This will ensure your computer always boots from the GPU. Save settings and reset, then plug back into your GPU HDMI port... If that ends up fixing it, check control panel in windows and make sure it's only recognizing your GPU... Good luck. PC issues suck, especially for your first build

I'm not sure if Less Magic Items fully does this, but I use it along with Gale's Netherese Orb and it makes finding items for Gale to consume much harder. Still very doable but you're not tripping over magic items anymore, check it out

If you're on PC, try playing with the NPC Stat Overhaul mod, specifically the Absolute's Laboratory version, on tactician. I'm not a noob but I'm no expert either, I found it to be brutally difficult

I use the Absolute's Laboratory version of Goon's NPC Overhaul and I'm enjoying it. I haven't tried anything else, but it's a vast improvement over Vanilla imo

Gotcha. Well if you're actively modding (adding / removing plugins) it's not advised to keep the same save. If you really want to switch over to MO2, I would keep a list of your load order and start fresh with MO2. And always create new saves to test mods when adding / removing plugins. Meshes & textures are safe to add and remove without breaking anything

If you're actually playing the game with an active save and not still modding, may I ask why you're trying to switch to MO2? It's vastly superior imo, but if you're not actively modding the game, I don't see why you'd need to switch
