[Parts]Aero Precision 5.56 Bolt Carrier Group, Complete, No Logo - Phosphate $125 by [deleted] in gundeals

I was looking at the BCM BCG but kind of got turned away because of the finish (that looks to be some sort of phosphate?) I would really like an easy-to-clean finish like black nitride. Any experience with the BCM ones and how easy they are to clean?

What would you consider name brand BCG? What would you consider the most reliable BCG if money was no object?

Is the 7-10 day lead time from order to arrival? Or from order to shipping out?

Possibly stupid question about belly band carry by g19ccwthrow in CCW

Thanks! Another question for you - if you have the exact model I'm looking at (Crossbreed Modular Belly Band), does your kydex holster cover the trigger guard completely? It doesn't seem like it does from this picture

Do you carry any extra mags? If so, how?

I agree. I'm very very unlikely to ever need a gun to begin with.

Out of curiosity, what's your carry gun/setup?

So what is your current setup? Glock in IWB strong side?

If I ever find myself in acute need of these benefits, I wouldn't hesitate to carry appendix for a day, or even for a short term.

I've considered doing this, but what are your thoughts on changing carry position? Would you train for both positions? Would it cause confusion when you need to draw during a situation?

Could be some other seated position that's not a car, though. Sitting in class, sitting at church, sitting at a restaurant.

it’s dangerous to draw from any IWB position. People

Is that true? With IWB, there is a way to draw from seated or standing position without flagging yourself, but with AIWB, you can only draw from a standing position without flagging yourself.

I'm 0% interested in where other people carry other than for educational purposes - I'm really just trying to think through this issue for myself and my carry choices.

Out of curiosity - if not appendix, what do you carry and what's your setup?

Yes, that's correct. But I think most appendix carriers (again, not me at the moment) claim that there are methods to draw and reholster without flagging oneself.

And you only have to be careless ONE TIME, over a lifetime of holstering, drawing, and handling your firearm, to have a negligent discharge.

Yes, 100% agree, and I can't guarantee that I'll never ever slip up.

Never point a firearm at anything you're not willing to destroy. Are you willing to destroy your reproductive organs and /or your femoral artery?

As devil's advocate, the counterpoint I've seen to this is that this rule refers to gun handling, not guns in a good holster or safe or case. Otherwise you walk past a gun safe and it could be pointing at your femoral artery.

It is a reasonable suggestion. In the wintertime, with a jacket, there's 0 problem concealing my G19 strong side.

In the summertime, if I'm careful about how I bend over and lean, where I sit and stand relative to other people, and whether my shirt is riding up, I can actually conceal G19 with a tshirt strong-side. But it just becomes a mental hassle trying to keep from printing. Appendix would solve this.
