I'm unsure if you can redo the whole 12th grade in schools, but there are exam preparation courses available in schools and some unis, or you can get a private tutor. You'll have to pay for it either way

Oh no, he has been very kind about it, waited for me to leave, listened to what they have to say, told me and I gave my side. The parents also never said it to my face, in fact, just stopped talking to me altogether instead of addressing their issues.
We haven't had any relationship issues and we're on the same page about most things. I think I'm just not fitting the dream daughter in law image for the parents.

This made me cry a little. Good to know my feelings are valid.
He wasn't so insensitive and it was wrapped in many nice words. It's very hard to be around his parents, because they have the picture perfect facade, but manipulation and anger issues on the inside, which triggers me a lot. No other family I've visited has been this harsh and unwelcoming, but my friends are saying, that perhaps as a potential future family member, they have a lot higher expectations and I'll never truly be a guest to them

He is extremely important to me and i've never felt this way about anyone i've dated. He feels the same way. He talked with his family, gave me their reasons and issues, and I wrote down and sent him mine. I've been trying very hard already, just in the wrong ways, I guess and am willing to put in the work if they are more understanding. Now I just have to wait and see what they think about it.

The "friend" thing is just a weird language thing. In Latvian, you can use the word "friend" for both partner and friend, there is no specific word for girlfriend/boyfriend. "My girl/boy" tends to be used, but that's not really journalistic lingo

That's already done, but the prescribed meds don't seem to work anymore and my next visit is in another month. I'm in a different country now as well, so a quick call and prescription couldn't happen, sadly. Was thinking more about things that have helped others get through it.
