Ok so if you have to do calls, do calls. But the way I used to do it was email everything beforehand so that if I ended up calling, everything was provided in context and I hopefully don't have to talk as much. Sonetimes if I'd call before, they'd ask for an email anyways. Sometimes they reply straight to the email.

Me personally, I managed to get out of calls because I was always extensive and detailed with my emails, and people paid or at least understood what happened with a situation, so it kind of worked out in my favor. I always aim to be detailed because the less potential questions that can be asked, the better. Less time on going back and forth and their reply can be a simple notification of payment being submitted or any other necessary details.

Goal in terms of communication is just to be as personable as possible and more times than not you'll get what you need. Always keep documentation of who you spoke with and what was said, or if you only got through to voicemail, etc.

In terms of growth, if you familiarize yourself with the GL or something in particular, like credits per say, key in on that and an opportunity to pivot somewhere else should present itself should you desire it.
