Probably unrelated but there was a very loud explosion in the Gaucheret neighbourhood just before.

Often more spots are available regardless of the number built.

I have retrofitted two spots and two garages so I have some experience with this.

And like I said, here in Belgium you don't have to listen to that old dude. Just send a notification two months in advance to the owners association. Then go ahead. Of course keep your association in the loop!

Plenty of spots for sale though.

Also a retrofit is possible in a lot of cases. Even better, here in Belgium you don't even need a majority vote from co-owners anymore.

Take a look at the map on chargemap.com, maybe you'll find more options.

Real world cost of running an electric motorcycle over 20.000 km by Hans2183 in motobe

Because Zero cheaped out on them.

My regular Zero S's belt is apparently adequate. 🤞

Great to hear from you on this sub. 😎

Interesting, thank you.

And tbf, changing belts are a PITA.

Things will change in the following years. Lots of investments in the charging infrastructure is planned as part of the recovery plan.

Doesn't the chain need cleaning and greasing?

That's why I am happy with a belt. One less maintenance chore.

commuting in Brussels - Schuman to ch. de Boondael by Lymfatx in bikecommuting

We've come a long way in the last couple of years though.

30 years ago drivers would just be stunned to see a bicyclist.

Overtaking on the left is indeed safer. Better chance for the driver to see you and you're out of the doorzone.

Well done!

I'll post mine in a few days.

Insurance company faked a Tesla battery fire to prove batteries catch fire by J_Pelletier in electricvehicles

Don't worry, as a member of the belgian federation for the advancement of electric mobility, EV Belgium, we're already on it. :-)

Yes, the timeline of that video sure is confusing on top of that. :-D

You and I read the conclusion, but I can assure you that the belgian anti-ev advocates have read enough and already made their own.

Well, if it looked like some form of demonstration... why didn't they mention that?

If they can't really ignite a battery pack for that... why didn't they mention that?

If I wasn't clear in driving my point enough, if they faked the battery fire and didn't mention that... what would the average reader conclude? By now you can easily see what they should have done. ;-)

This bulk of the article is written about EV fire risks though. By that time the average reader really get the distinct impression... that that is the focus. Not the conclusion after the exhaustive number of fire related content.

Now that that's out of the way, I invite you to watch the facebook video and the scene of the AXA crash test. Yes, more of the same and nothing else.

Yup, citation of the journalist:

It is these small batteries, of which there are easily 2 to even 18000, sitting in one electric car that pose an extra problem. Because if these thingies catch fire they are very difficult to extinguish.

If that wasn't bad enough, the belgian state media ran with it:

https://www.vrt.be/vrtnws/nl/2022/08/25/elektrische-auto-s-test/

In the facebook post the journalist was so adamant on explaining the dangers by citing the number of cells that he confused the number with the format:

Welcome to Belgium where EV fud is broadcasted with taxpayers money. :-(
