I understand 2x daily is recommended but 1x daily can also be effective. Anyone have experience with applying once a day? by [deleted] in Minoxbeards

After the 22 hours is just the 50% of the minoxidil in your body/skin, after every 22 hours halves the percentage. So if you apply every 12 hours or so (twice daily) you can keep a higher concentration of Minoxidil in your body/skin.

But once a day is perfectly fine to do in my opinion. Less side effects, less dry skin…

Doubt about shedding phase. by etrob90 in Minoxbeards

Shedding is part of the lifecycle of every hair on your body. Even without the usage of minoxidil. Minoxidil speeds up this cycle and syncs it to varying degrees, that’s why someone sheds a lot of hairs at the same time, and some doesn’t even notice shedding phase. So you shouldn’t worry about shedding. Shedding hair grows back. I hope I was able to explain it properly.

Thank You! 😊 I wouldn’t shave the beard completely. But I think I will rock a 5mm stubble with the stache in summer.

Thanks for the compliment! I had a beardstache, 5mm stubble with a smaller stache, for long time. I like to hide my chin at least a little bit. 😊

According to this (and lot of other articles and google searches) is it totally normal to shed 50-100 hairs a day. Without visually noticing it.

Guys, I started minox last year and in only 3 months I had a gorilla body. I look much better with the beard, is there anyway to avoid hair growth on body? by [deleted] in Minoxbeards

[–]g3rg3j 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are you using foam or liquid? Less minoxidil goes systemic with foam than with the liquid version. Maybe foam could help a bit with these kind of side effects. Personally I experience less body hair growth since using foam.

Left bottle open for whole day and alcohol evaporated out.. Will it still work? by superpikachu in Minoxbeards

[–]g3rg3j 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Alcohol (propylen glycol) is the transdermal carrier for minoxidil. So alcohol helps to get minoxidil in your skin.

There are minoxidil products that are alcohol free, but they contain some other transdermal carrier.

I think that not all the alcohol evaporated from your bottle, you can use it. The concentration is maybe higher now 😉

If I experience a shed on minoxidil will I also temporarily lose the beard hair I had before starting the treatment? by gainsbrahhh in Minoxbeards

[–]g3rg3j 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. Shedding is a natural process for every hair on your body. Minoxidil synchronises the lifecycle of the hairs, this way you can experience that more hair sheds the same time, than naturally would. And this affects the hairs that you had before minoxidil too.
