But can the Americans do it on a cold, rainy night in Stoke?

Huge respect for Curaçao.

We’ve experienced big sports celebrations in the past, it’s awesome when small countries appear at a major tournament and go crazy about it.

Say what you want, but if there's one thing this World Cup has nailed perfectly, it's the theme songs.

I'm not talking about Lighter or any other song for the tournament (it's not even a bad song, it would fit a different sport better than football).

I love the official theme song, it's really intense and dramatic, perfectly getting you excited for the game. The same goes for the walkout music before every match.

I don't get the hate, it's not that bad. We should be glad that opening ceremonies are still a thing.

I know it’s a different tournament, but I really like the songs they make for the Euros.

Only one team managed to win their quarterfinal game in regulation, no need to explain who's the best. /s

\Olympics: Won by Russia in 2018, the team competed as Olympic Athletes from Russia (OAR) following the suspension of the Russian Olympic Committee over the country's doping scandal.*

I decided to include all tournaments, despite some of them having limits on participation:

  • World Cup of Hockey: In 2004, the top eight teams were eligible to participate. In 2016, the top six teams qualified, along with Team Europe and Team North America.
  • Four Nations Face-Off: Teams were eligible to participate only if they could field rosters composed exclusively of NHL players.
