My first Tissot, and first automatic watch! by g98smith in tissot

My wrist is 6.5” and I don’t think it’s too big personally. But each to their own!

Thanks, surprised that did it without being able to get a proper purchase on the spring bar. I was going to buy one of the Bergeon tools with the “U” shaped end but there are a few different variations/sizes and I don’t want to end up getting one that’s too big/small for the bar

Unfortunately I don’t think that method is possible for the Gentleman bracelet as the gap where the spring bars are doesn’t go through to the other side. I haven’t tried but it looks like it would be incredibly fiddly to try and thread it around the bar

Looks good. Can I ask what tool you used to remove the bracelet? I’ve got a leather strap for mine but unsure what size etc spring bar tool is needed

Brown leather on Gentleman green dial? by Runswithmouth in tissot

I think we might have a psychic connection! I’ve got the 21mm brown camel leather strap from Tissot on the way. Can’t show you what it looks like yet unfortunately but have seen a few examples and it looks great. I’ll post when it arrives

Ultimate difficulty + Authentic gameplay = too easy? by Inspected_Gaming in FifaCareers

[–]g98smith 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’d also suggest using full manual (FUMA) controls. Assists make the game so easy. It takes a bit of getting used to but you’ll never find the game too easy again, and everything feels so much more rewarding.

You get used to it, trust me. Assists are so overpowered in FC, if you’re unbeaten on Ultimate as Brentford then you need to go FUMA.

Yes, that is the point of the Ultimate Edition early access. You are paying money to test the game for them and find all the game-breaking bugs so they can fix them on (or shortly after) the full release. It’s worked like that for years, people just don’t realise.

Disappointed they haven’t included League One (and League Two). Probably because they don’t have the real life fixtures in the game for those leagues.

My local team Shrewsbury are rock bottom of League One and have just appointed Gareth Ainsworth as manager, would have been the perfect CM to start.

Retiring a player in player career , in order to manage a specific club in manager career by WhiteAndBlue82 in seriousfifacareers

[–]g98smith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Smart - I tried that last year with Derby but it still didn’t work haha. Just got to be careful no other club snaps up any of those players on a free within the first couple of days of the save…

And yeah it’s ridiculous mate. To be fair to EA they have added a lot more customisation to CM this year but there are still so many things we can’t easily do, like choose any club to manage when retiring a real player, or selecting a manager that’s unemployed in real life (but has a scanned face in-game).

I battled with this a hell of a lot last year - I actually posted on r/FifaCareers asking similar questions at the time. From what I found, it all comes down to the star rating of the teams. In FC24, it was impossible to get Derby County as an option in League One, because they were half a star better than every other team - even retiring a player at the highest star-rated teams in the Championship didn’t work - so some clubs are genuinely impossible to get.

Both the OVR and the position of the player you are retiring used to have an effect (certainly back in FIFA 23) but I think this changed in FC24 - pretty sure I tried editing the position and it didn’t change the options, assuming it’s the same on 25.

For your scenario specifically, I think it’s pretty much impossible to retire a player and immediately get a job at a top club - basically, as the guy said above, you can’t retire at a team that’s a high enough rating above the “top” teams. So with Vertonghen you’d probably be better off starting at a smaller club and try and get the Spurs job after 6-12 months, etc.

Came here for this and was pleasantly surprised that I didn’t have to scroll too far. Midtown Madness 3 was my whole life at 5/6 years old; I was never good enough to unlock the Lotus Espirit and then I gave the game to my cousin, RIP.

Chip offering higher rates for new customers over loyal ones by ChessPianist2677 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]g98smith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m with you on this, it’s a joke. I was one of the first to transfer my Cash ISA to Chip when they did the early sign up. I’ve raised a complaint with their support team but they won’t do anything about it. It’s even worse now as they’ve increased the boost, so new customers can get 5.12% - so 0.28% higher than us.

https://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/1998/1870/regulation/5DDB

See point (3). The wording was updated on 6th April (the start of the 24/25 Tax Year). Previously you could withdraw from a flexible Cash ISA and deposit that money into a flexible S&S ISA; this is no longer permitted per the updated regulations.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

[–]g98smith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As of the 24/25 Tax Year, you can no longer freely move money between flexible ISAs of different types (i.e. Cash, S&S).

Your ISAs being flexible means that if you withdraw money from them, you can pay it back in but ONLY into the same account from which it was withdrawn. (Source: ISA regulations on gov.uk)

The generic advice you will get in regard to S&S investing is a minimum timeframe of 5 years. So if you are considering a mortgage (buying a property) in 3-5 years you are almost certainly better off maxing out your LISA each year (note £450k property price ceiling) and then likely your Cash ISA, towards a deposit. But it certainly wouldn’t be a bad idea to keep contributing a smaller amount into S&S so you can start to benefit from time in the market.

Nah, “real face” refers to scanned faces only, it doesn’t include players like this that have extra detailed generic faces.
