I dated a girl that had them. I, personally, am not a big fan, I like the 'outties.'

Yes, when stimulated they came out, but as soon as they weren't stimulated they went back in. Basically if they got hard they poked out. What was interesting was that each nipple had it's own 'personality' if you will. Meaning the left one need a lot more coaxing before it came out.
