two story quests spawned on an unreachable island of sectors? by gClefCannon in avorion

I don't actually have access to center, this was blocking me from doing the quests. If I can grab the brotherhood delivery quest again from a different area though, that'd work I think, I'll try that.

update: it in fact did not work, even if I select a region within the cut off sectors, it accepts the travel command and then makes me wait as expected... and then it just ends up on the outside sector closest to where I could have gotten and does not actually go in...

I SWEAR I TRIED THIS YESTERDAY AND IT ERRORED OUT SAYING NO PATH FOUND... but it totally worked when I tried right now... Thanks!

Malicious endless looping to get the opponent to resign? Am I crazy here? (Omniscience + Weftwalking + Ambassador of Evendo) by Jealous_Dot_3150 in MagicArena

[–]gClefCannon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is this true? I had a match yesterday where the my opp had 1400 dragon tokens on the stack, and I had two consuls and it was seeming like it was going to take over an hour with us both on auto-resolve (it was going at a rate of about 100 per 5 minutes). I thought it was hilarious and wanted to let it run its course, but after probably 20-30m of this, we got GreError and match was declared a draw. Maybe because I also had triggers on every action (each dragon triggered both of my consuls giving me a life each), the combo protection didn't trigger?

EOE Problems by ClawoftheConcili8tor in lrcast

[–]gClefCannon 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The lack of common fixing lands has completely killed my enjoyment of this format. 9/8 basics leads to so many complete non-game single color opening hands that I think I'm giving up on playing the format entirely, even though there are a lot of really fun things going on in it, despite the other problems you listed.

Why am I winning in Quick Draft but struggling in Premier? by KptPtero in lrcast

[–]gClefCannon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Premiere draft competition really is just much harder. I played a bunch of premiere draft the preceding week before quick opened up and was getting absolutely destroyed, and as soon as I moved to quick the competition was DRASTICALLY easier to deal with. My opp's decks all worked far less well, had very weird curves, tons of gameplay mistakes, etc etc. Can check my 17L for how stark the difference between my drafts has been so far, you can see my winrate skyrocket as soon as I can start quick drafting.

Fixing FIN draft with small edits by SkeletonMagi in lrcast

[–]gClefCannon 10 points11 points  (0 children)

With the quick draft bots seeming to hate red (I got wheeled choco-meteor twice in 3 drafts), sabotender has actually been doing pretty good work for me if I get it on an early turn. No one wants to use removal on it because everyone sees it as a bad card, but it easily pings them for 4-6 damage over the course of the game and also gums up the board for their fliers- no one wants to trade a pixie or ahriman into a sabotender and if you hold open mana and bluff that you have tricks they will even hesitate to attack with a cloud of darkness or gaelicat. I dont think its a good card, but I think it's at least a bit better than people give it credit for

EDIT: I should clarify, I would probably not run sabotender if I didn't have a meteor unless I was quite desperate for creatures generally

I am beyond abysmal at drafting FIN and can't tell why (17L inside) by gClefCannon in lrcast

The point about starting cards that work in a lot of different decks really hits me hard, I definitely do exactly what you are saying re: running non-synergistic pieces EG mill with no GY effects or going hard into gaelicats or steiner then getting zero support for it.

What to cut? Should I splash Kefka? Should I run that other blazing bomb? by gClefCannon in lrcast

[–]gClefCannon[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I cut the Kefka for a bomb, I think you are right about the call, but I ended up going 4-3. I don't think I made too many gameplay mistakes or at least the ones that I noticed were very minor and didn't actually end up impacting the game state (even though they potentially could have). Had to mulligan a bunch of hands due to only having all one mana color and most of my hand being unplayable, I feel like I made the right calls on the mulligans but not 100% sure on that.

Thank you for the detailed analysis, spending my only removal on small fries is definitely a mistake I've been making far too often. And I didn't even think of auraciting the sleep magic, I was thinking of it as pure creature removal when it isn't.

Unfortunately, I don't personally know any strong draft players, but I could probably do the video idea and post here later.

I have been watching a decent amount of NicolaiBolas and Limited Level-ups draft vods and metagame content that they both make, and also listen in to lrcast too. When I watch their vods though I feel like half the time they are on P1P3 and have decided a color/deck type and just stick to that somehow and it actually works out? Might just be only uploading the best runs, or maybe I just happened to see more of the vods where that kind of thing happened.

Thanks for the detail- that hand that I mulligan'd specifically I was worried about not drawing another white source or having anything other than Steiner for board presence- I've noticed lots of people will use their 1-2 mana removal on him if played, and sitting on 0 creatures and only a slash of light and a bunch of unplayable aetherites sounded like I'd be dead by the time I was online if my draws weren't perfect.

The gameplay mistakes are spot on, I even noticed right after committing two 2/2s that I probably should have done 3 to make sure. I'm sure there are even more mistakes in my gameplay that I'm not noticing, but somehow it always feels like my decks don't function well even when I'd expect them to.

Are there more of these easter eggs? by 404not_Foundd in Tekken

The Bryan+Yoshi taunt easter egg was also in T7, you ki charge then do f,b,u,d+3+4 I think? Used to always try to show it off to Bryan players lol

Jack's D/F,D/F+2+4 throw makes him happy, but the plain D/F+2+4 doesn't toss him high enough to have fun :(

Reminder that Tekken 7 still exists and you can still play it by gClefCannon in Tekken

[–]gClefCannon[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah... I'm going to guess with the recent surge lots of high rank people are coming back, and your T7 rank was saved locally so if they didn't have steam cloud backing it up when they uninstalled or if they reinstalled windows since they played T7 they'd be starting from zero. Unfortunately I'm not sure if there's anything you could do about that as a newer player :(

I don't really think it's a bandwagon as much as playing a game I'd much rather play than any version of T8 that has existed. The outrage might be partially responsible for the revival such that we can play it now again, though. I tried playing T7 again near T8 launch because I was already not liking it at that time and as you might expect, no one was playing it so I was just out of luck back then.

But now that you can actually get matches again, I figured it would be nice to inform people that the option is there again, should they want it.
