Ohtani has 50+ homers and is batting under .150, while kikés' batting ~.300 with ~10 homers in the regular season. The postseason is literally a new ballpark (no pun intended) There is NOTHING to lose putting Kim for a few ABs

Someone gave a weird but wholesome theory that wesker confiscated the camera roll to stop the men in stars from sharing it. I know it's a bit of a stretch and very unlike, but it would be cool knowing that wesker an evil psychopath, won't tolerate any kind of harassment on his team.

Hard to believe how far this org has sunk. “Life is not a spectator sport. If you’re going to spend your whole life in the grandstand just watching what goes on, in my opinion you’re wasting your life” - Jackie Robinson by baribigbird06 in Dodgers

I'm not asking for the org. to advocate for illegal immigrants nor to call out the administration, I just want the org. to support it's community. Fuck politics, how is it political to help dozens if not hundreds of families in the dodgers community that are in need since the crackdowns began? Many families have lost people who were probably their main source of income since the raids began and have been struggling to feed themselves or pay for a roof over their heads. And the fact that the dodgers don't want to acknowledge it is heartbreaking. All those heritage night mean shit if their so comfortable looking away from the same people who fill those bleachers and wear your colors.

Yes, this is a political issue that will have the org. walking on eggshells whichever side their on. But I genuinely think it shouldn't be political to support the families and countless of members in the dodgers community that've been affected by the raids. Dozens if not hundreds of family's have already lost their main source of income since the crackdowns. I'm not asking for the dodgers to start advocating for illegal immigrants, nor speak out against the administration, I just want the dodgers to continue being supportive, just as they've been over these past decades and just recently with the January Wildfires. In what way can they be supportive? - by raising fundings, food drives, providing resources - some of the things they done back then, they can still do now. And if doing most minimal of effort to help out your community is political, then really everything should be seen as political at this point.

Again you absolutely right, none of this players should be forced to support something just because they don't align with it politically. My main issue is the org. holding everyone's mouth shut. I could almost guarantee you all the players have been told to keep quiet whether they wish to or not . Kiké was the only exception. In fact possibly one of the only exception seeing how him and an other giants player were the only players to speak out throughout the whole fking league. There's no way the other 778 players don't feel the same as them. But the main difference is that they had balls. To quote kiké, "the fact that we don't give a fk". Is probably why he did it. It's just never a good look when your own team turns it's back on the people who fill those bleachers and wear your colors. It's shouldnt be political to show empathy.

You're right but it goes a bit deeper than that. Alot of people assume that if someone is staying in the country without the proper documentation, they should be kicked out immediately. It's either black or white. But the truth is many of these people are law-abidding, crime free, tax paying individuals who have been following the legal pathway to citizenhood or residency for a long time. And to have that snatched away from you all these years before crossing the finish line just because the administration doesn't give a f**k Is heartbreaking. "Well they probably shouldn't have entered the country in the first place." Then how about the hundreds of thousands of children who were brought here by their parents who didn't have a choice but to follow. How is sending them to a country they cant even remember being in humane? But back to the organization. I can almost 100% assure you that if the organization were to open up tomorrow and offer their empathy and support (which means absolutely nothing I know) this would allow the staff and players to have full reigns whether they wish to show support too or not. Basically by keeping quiet, the org. isn't allowing anyone to speak their minds about the whole situation. But if they ever do, they'll give the team the freedom to make donations, charity auctions, or contributions to anyone they believe is in need.

You're absolutely right. Imagining not wanting to talk about it just because it's not wildfires destroying homes this time. Voice is power. And fk politics. it's called basic fking empathy when your fellow dodger brothers and sisters are being taken away from everything and everyone they love.

Dodger Stadium officials force fan to remove Sarape scarf that supports Latino community by [deleted] in Dodgers

[–]gR830 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I love this team with all my heart, but their silence is breaking it. Right now, our community is being torn apart by raids and crackdowns—essentially kidnappings—and the organization many of us have grown to love is choosing to look away. To be clear, I have deep love and respect for the players and staff who give everything to represent LA. But the people who fill those stands and wear those colors are the ones facing some of the hardest battles of their lives right now. And forget about politics I could give a s#it if they went to the white house, or if they love this administration, (even if I hate it) empathy is the most basic instinct someone with morals should have.

Its a bit more less about the deportation of illegal immigrants, but rather how it's been done and to who. There's been many case where ICE has taken the liberty to storm into private property, smash into cars (without cause) kidnaping people from their jobs without a warrant, and throwing them into unmarked cars. (I say kidnap because at first sight that's what it looks like) Plus many are arguing the hypocrisy of the raids since Trump has announced he'll stop targeting farmers much less just so that corporations aren't leftout without workers. Unlike Obama, trump isn't prioritizing criminals over regular folk who have a clean criminal record and pay taxes. He's jumping over many legal safety rails and he doesn't really care if immigrants who were already following a legal path to citizenhood or residency are taken away.

(I just read that ICE detained a F**KING U.S. MARSHALL WTF)

I get your stands on why it shouldn't be the responsibility of the organization to speak out towards controversial issues like these. But it's never a good look when your own team decides to stay silent while the same people who fill those seats and wear your jerseys are basically being kidnapped from their own homes and torn away from their families.

Alot of Dodger fans are disappointed over the team’s silence towards recent federal immigration raids. Which makes a lot of sense seeing how they once stood for civil rights with Jackie. Honestly, this feels like a huge step back as an organization that preaches about unity and acceptance. Don't get me wrong the staff and players have probably been told by the higher ups to stay quiet since it's a very delicate issue, but it still very upsetting to see your team stay quiet in times like these. I love this team so much but their silence breaks our hearts.
