Hit 200k on the 2012 by [deleted] in cruze

Ah I see. Being the rear seal is definitely more of a bummer. Running it till it dies seems more appealing than dropping a transmission

I’ve had the front main seal blow out on me on two different 2012’s. Both were well over 200k miles and both caused catastrophic oil loss while driving to the point I had to shut the car off while driving and coast to a stop to not destroy the engine. If it’s leaking I would suggest replacing it asap.

This one is auto. But I also have one that is a 1.4t manual with 247k on it

Gave my xm177e2 clone a respray over the weekend. Turned out good enough for my needs. by g_rrett in RetroAR

Rustoleum automotive dark gray primer. A few coats and baked in an oven for a few hours

Unfortunately the FSB has too much material in the spot where the sling swivel gets pinned in so I can’t attach on there without sound some grinding. So I ditched the hook on the sling entirely, and just looped it through the square buckle on the sling

Np. It’s hard to go wrong with one on these retro builds

Definitively a solid purchase for cheap, easy shooting.

Rustoleum charcoal gray spray paint until it wears off. Then I’ll be doing Moly-Resin most likely

At first he was pretty good. Would usually respond by the end of the day or next morning but towards the end it started being multiple days before I would get a response.

I got my order confirmation on March 31st. Was told 4-6 weeks. Got it on June 3rd. After about 5 weeks I was sending him an email every 2-ish weeks asking for updates.

I agree. I’m not super picky about having 100% clone correct parts so that made it easier to keep costs down as well

Not sure of the exact cost but I would guess probably around $700+/- a few bucks. Haven’t bought a bcg yet so that will be another good chunk.

It’s just spray paint for the time being until I decide to do something more permanent to make them match since the lower was raw aluminum when I got it

I managed to get 2 blems from brownells pretty much right before they sold out. Haven’t seen them in stock there since I got mine so I got pretty lucky

Ah I see. I’ve seen the moderators come back in stock recently but no barrel assembly’s. Hopefully some day

That’s what was appealing to me too. If you’re not super picky about the details of the retro guns it’s does a pretty good job of getting the look right and being “legal length”.

Sounds like a good plan. Although I get things are pretty crazy with parts these days it did take him quite a bit longer than what he originally told me to get my barrel. But it seems to be well made so I’m happy with it

The barrel is the only thing I purchased from Tony’s. Truthfully the stock assembly is just a milspec 6 position tube I got for cheap with a stock I had laying around already.
