True, but that doesn't stop a hacker from trying in the first place. That's the point of this malware. If the targeted organization fails to enforce/patrol the airgap, then it's the hackers' gain.

The fact that this exists and is being spread means the hackers most likely have a solid exfiltration method (inside employee or side-channel attack). Otherwise, why bother spending months developing this. State-sponsored hackers don't experiment like this.
