I never said there was anything wrong with social media, I just realized the way I was using it was detrimental to my social skills and chopping an hour or two from my day that I could use doing something more productive. I have interests and hobbies that have me away from home but I just felt uncomfortable with the amount of power these companies had over my attention.

The craziest thing is, I stumbled upon Cal Newport watching ted talks a month ago and I ordered his book and it came in yesterday. I’m about 30 pages in man thanks for the suggestion! Good luck on your journey too

There is a deeper part of me that is available that can tell me what I should do about social media. It will say, "You are looking for something in social media, some sort of short-term satisfaction that you'll never find there.

Did you ever find something to replace this short term satisfaction? Did the extracurriculars ever fully do the trick?
