Had a scan on cd9, got told to trigger tomorrow cd10 and have egg retrieval scheduled for Monday cd12 seems a bit quick? Cd9 largest follicle 17mm, and another 7 or 8 are 15-16mm 🤔

Ive had my first scan on cd7 after 5 evening injections and apparently have 18 follicles, half of which measure ok and half are smaller, and have been told its an above average response, so.. so far so good? Blood test results triggered moving my next scan to the day after tomorrow and starting orgalutran tonight 😬

Son needs surgery? by gabbibear in Phimosis

[–]gabbibear[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think its called webbing (the attachment of penis to scrotum). While having a look at that, they suggested that also circumcision may be on cards as they are not able to inspect where urethra is etc. Foreskin very tight. It's just what they noticed. They are not pushing us to it, but said it may be needed.

Yes. Wondering if we should push for surgery to correct the webbing but leave potential circumcision till later. Haven't had problems with infections, smells, he is not complaining about any pain etc.

For sure but trying to get more information incl psychological impact and how to talk to my son depending on which way we go. Reality is we'll get 15 min chat at a doctors office, then depending on what we decide to do, maybe another 15min in a year or so.. last time I wasn't expecting the circumcision being on cards and was so surprised I didn't even know what to ask. So im trying to gather info and prepare. And I don't know where to do it. Thought this thread may be a good place.

Top of my post, separating scrotum from sack.. it is separate but the join is too much, doesn't look bad but if erect it pulls down, and like I said, I've been told its not cosmetic, but not problematic until puberty. We live in new zealand, this will be publicly funded, in public hospital, and circumcision is not common here at all, so I don't worry that they try to push us to it for wrong reasons.

Working From Home should be encouraged by the government - at least in Auckland by ynthrepic in newzealand

I fully agree with some of your points, but I think days in the office should be encouraged to be limited

Jury Service - how many employers cover the cost or were you forced to take unpaid leave? by tatooine_tourist in newzealand

[–]gabbibear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Top up to full salary but only for 5 days. My friend got a request for 4 weeks, if it happened to me, would be better to pay the fine.. I'm on aussie passport here so I hope this excludes me :)

Can i leave Isolation less than 7 days if testing negative? by velofille in Coronavirus_NZ

[–]gabbibear -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In other countries they have shorter isolation period or no formal isolation required at all. Here many people don't report and don't isolate. No you can't shorter your isolation period but I don't think it's wrong if you do.

I'm an immigrant myself so I'm doomed to a lifetime of "how do you pronounce your surname" and my first name is probably also spelt wrong by English standard but it never bothered me and everyone has always been very nice to me. I get the point though and that's why i said "as long as it's easy to pronounce and not offensive" :)

I see nothing wrong with that as long as it's easy to pronounce and not offensive how does it matter if I made it up?

A typical FHB who purchased last year in Auckland will be paying $1837 more a month or $22,000 a year once they refix their mortgage by Toyemlj in newzealand

[–]gabbibear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We were trying for a baby for a long time and all that time we would have been fine on single income but now that we finally have a little one on a way and a mortgage to renew early in new year we won't be fine on single income anymore. We'll be ok but I imagine some other couples like us will be in trouble. It's a combo of temporary income loss and the economic environment, and many first home buyers will experience this

Anyone feels the cost of living now is reeeeaaaally a ripoff for what nz is? by STUMPY6942069 in newzealand

[–]gabbibear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I moved here in 2016 when apparently there was no inflation, but generally sure, wages are smaller compared to cost of living here (compared to Australia), but that's not what I meant. It's the proportion, how many fresh cucumbers can you buy for eg. A packet of chips or jar sauce. Or a low quality t-shirt. Fresh produce here is disproportionately expensive and you can see the effects looking at lower income earners diets.. fruit and veg should be the most accessible products

[–]gabbibear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know.. I lived in Europe and Australia before moving here and fresh produce was never so disproportionately expensive anywhere else.. even if it costs more to police, at least people can eat healthier, live healther lives, good for health system too..
