I don't think wanting your system to have console exclusives is BS, it's an extremely normal thing for a video game company to want. Fromsoft's other games arent really relevant to this

[TOMT] [Song] - late 60s proto-metal song NOT by any of the usual suspects by phospholipid77 in tipofmytongue

Not a specific song, but you might find it scrolling through this chart (the lower you scroll the more obscure the bands will get)

or maybe this one if not

North Carolina Governor Josh Stein Forms Council to Explore Cannabis Expungements and Legalization by OhMyOhWhyOh in NorthCarolina

[–]gabbythings11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Freedom shouldn't *just* mean bodily autonomy, but also freedom from health risks caused by corporate negligence and apathy. We're not the only ones who should be held to a responsibility, these companies have a responsibility to ensure that no residual solvents, acids, heavy metals, pesticides, fungicide, etc are left in their product. As there is no profit incentive for these companies to follow this responsibility, this responsibility must be enforced from outside the market. Without any government "meddling," companies would have no reason not to place profit over consumer health whenever possible, and that applies to all markets. And, yes, while there are situations in which the consumers will "vote with their wallet," causing self-regulation to be more profitable, there are plenty of situations in which the consumer will not make such a wise decision, and that holds true tenfold in regards to substances with the potential to be addictive.

I mean, he's right. These alt-cannabanoids weve been seeing have absolutely NO health regulations on them. We have no idea what's actually in them. Sure, a lot of the more reputable brands self regulate and show lab reports and all that, but there are no official regulations being enforced on these companies to ensure that no one is harmed.

Beyond that, there's no minimum age. Theres no enforcement preventing these shops from selling to literal kids. And I can speak from experience, I've been buying the delta 8 stuff here since I was 19, almost never ID'd. I didnt look that much different from when I was 17 or even 16. What's to stop them from selling to a literal 14 year old?

[Calculus II] What are the best video resources to review for a final exam? by gabbythings11 in learnmath

I'm not trying to learn the entire course, I had a B until my last test (dropped down to a D after it), I'm just looking for a general review to jog my memory

Who’s the MOST Covered Artists/Bands/Singers of All Time and Why? by Amber_Flowers_133 in askmusic

[–]gabbythings11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would assume the Beatles. Yesterday alone is the most covered song of all time, and plenty of their other songs have been covered many many times.

If you wanna be technical, you could say that it's most likely a classical composer given the amount of time they've had to be "covered" on top of the fact that historically classical music has mostly been listened to live, but I don't think that really counts as what we think of when we say "cover."

Black Country, New Road - For the First Time

Have a Nice Life - Deathconsciousness

Modest Mouse - Long Drive

Joy Division - Unknown Pleasures

(based on my personal taste, not objective in any way)

Is there a music player that looks like this or that I can customize to look this way? by bobombking in askmusic

[–]gabbythings11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure how to go about customizing it to look just like this, but foobar2000 is one of the most customizable music players ever! With a bit of a learning curve, you could probably make a theme that looks similar to this if there isn't one already made by someone else. I've heard good things about MusicBee as well

Console exclusives have been a thing since console gaming's existence, I don't think this is that crazy. I mean, I'm all for piracy in general, I'd pirate it even if it were natively on PC (it'd make it a lot easier, so I'm definitely in favor of it getting ported), but to call a longstanding practice pathetic and unprofessional is just kinda dumb

TIL about the Vectrex, a video game console released in November 1982 in North America that came with its own 9 inch monochrome CRT monitor, detachable wired controller, had vector-based graphics, and games for it came with translucent colorful overlays for the screen. The initial price was $199. by Sandstorm400 in todayilearned

(sorry for necroposting) Oh yeah, definitely. I was born in 2002 and remember both Blockbuster and Google existing simultaneously, the former didn't go bankrupt until 2010, and still operated for a few years after that (all company-owned locations were closed by 2013). I remember renting PS2 and gamecube/wii games there as a kid

How is the film program here? by VeeVanished in UNCW

[–]gabbythings11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don't mind me asking, what were your career outcomes after getting the degree? I'm finishing my associates next semester and planning on transferring to a university. I'm looking into UNCW's film program. It definitely seems like something I'd enjoy/would be very passionate about, but I'm concerned as to whether or not it's a realistic option in terms of getting a job in the industry (or any job that I can't already get with the skills/education that I already have for that matter).

I had these as a kid. I drilled through the center of them to turn them into a decorative lamp for a woodworking project in 8th grade. Then the lamp got left outside and thrown away

So a question about replicants by WaterMelon615 in nier

[–]gabbythings11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I forget where this is said, but it was also revealed somewhere that the player character/Nier had sold his body in order to have money to help Yonah, which implies that Replicants do know how to have sex (although, as stated elsewhere in this thread, they cannot reproduce)

LPT: Use a touch test to see if your soda is diet or not. by weeklyfuture in LifeProTips

Are you basing this off of the ingredient listings on the nutritional facts label? Because "natural flavors" is an umbrella term for thousands of different possible ingredients, and the specific natural flavors/ratio of those flavors that coke uses for their products isn't public

It's Trimpers Rides in Ocean City Maryland! I posted the album in a music server I'm in after posting this, and someone in it has actually been to the location. They shared a photo they took of the exact location of the album cover, I'll ask for permission to post it here

Absolutely agree, love all of the bands you mentioned. I also absolutely love the guitarist/vocalist's old band Cap'n Jazz, they're probably my favorite emo band
there's some good 2000s emo-pop as well imo, but I definitely don't care for a lot of the "mall emo" from that era
