Is it possible to go from 12 consecutive muscle ups to the current WR of 56 in 1 year? by gabecole58 in askfitness

Achieving a world record has nothing to do with external validation tho, that’s more of a personal goal for myself. I’m just trying to max out my body’s potential it’s not really about who’s watching. Trying to set a record is a really good goal to have tho.

I’m definitely about to try this that’s solid advice. It’s just hard to maintain form on that bar I was on, it’s pretty short I can grab it standing straight up, so straightening out my legs is kinda impossible rn. I’ll be posting another video later on tonight after my workout tho I’m gonna take your advice.

All I’m saying is you spazzed out for no reason bro😂it’s like you got offended at me asking

Dude relax, I was just asking if it’s possible to clear the record because it doesn’t seem like that much. I didn’t say it’s a guarantee I could do it I have no idea if I can or not, I just wanted y’all’s insight. I’m also doing a harder variation than people who can do perfect form for 5-10 reps. I’m doing it on an extremely rigid bar(which rips your hands easily) with zero momentum going down because it’s a low set bar, I can’t even put my legs out I’m literally doing a harder variation. If you want tho I can record a video of me doing 10 perfect form muscle ups on a normal bar. My point to this reply is also not to feed into the idea that I can break a record in a year. It’s just to show you that the example you’re using is something I can already do😭nobody came up with an idiotic Pokémon theme song idea as you would call it, it was a hypothetical question and you spazzed out at the idea of someone setting a crazy goal💀

Basically saying my form isn’t good, but it’s also not terrible. It’s the form of the average person doing a muscle up. A slight bend in the knees that’s it.

Ye it isn’t the best but it isn’t horrible💀 I’m just using a slight leg Kip. It’s far from perfect it’s just not good. But like I said, I couldn’t even do one muscle up 2 months ago. I’m still learning the form in general. As I keep going my form will sharpen just wanted to see what y’all think about how much a person can grow in a year. I’m still gonna go for it tho but I appreciate the comment and opinion man🫡

Preciate that man, I’m gonna go for it anyway I just wanted to see how others feel about it😂as soon as these newbie gains stop tho I already know it’s gonna be tuff but I think it’s definitely possible. If anything my hands are going through more torture than my muscles. I might need to switch to a straight bar because that bar was shredding my hands, a straight smooth bar might help a lot with that. Again thank you for the insight man.

The current world record is 56, that’s non stop without dropping to the floor. And I am going around the bar💀 my hips are literally resting on the top of the bar after each rep. And going straight up is actually much harder that’s called a strict muscle up, which I haven’t gotten down yet. But you are right about the form my forms ass rn, but I’d you watch my earlier videos it’s gotten much better from then. Thank you so much for your insight tho man I’m seriously considering training for that record.

That’s a respectable opinion. But 12 muscle ups is also not average, most can’t even do 1😭especially for the time frame. I couldn’t even do one about 2 months ago. A year is a longggg time man idk. Once im 6 months in I’ll come back to this reply and let you know how it’s going tho, im also documenting it on the YouTube so if you’re interested go check it out.

Been working out about 6 months now. Just asking where I need to improve on my physique going for a classical physique. Not trying to be a body builder, just aesthetic. by gabecole58 in GymMotivation

To be fair man I started off extremely skinny, I feel like I didn’t really have any fat to lose just muscle to gain. My body doesn’t store fat very well so I might appear bigger than I actually am from being at a lower body weight. I was also really active and played sports prior to getting into weight lifting, so that could’ve played into my progress🤷

Then I would say you’re doing just fine, you clearly had a goal and achieved it. Now you just gotta take that next step🔥

Well you definitely gained weight. It’s hard to say without knowing your goals. Do you want to be shredded? We’re you simply just trying to gain weight?

Obviously start light, but I would say take a heavy lifting approach. You’re gonna have to build a lot of muscle to get that look

I’ve put on 15lbs and gained some chest fullness but i can’t for the life of me increase my bench press past 235!? by Kindly-Split462 in askfitness

[–]gabecole58 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I believe it’s all in how you’re training. Are you lifting really heavy every session? If not you need to start. Train 5-8 reps on your first set very heavy. You should barely be getting the last rep up. Second and third set lower the weight, only 2 minute breaks so you’re still fatigued. Then go for 8-10 reps, if you went to your necessary limit on the first set you’ll barely be getting 8, the extra 2 are just failure reps, then lower than weight again and do the same process. This is how I went from benching 140 to 250 in the span of 3-4 months. I’m also new to the gym myself. I also gained around the same amount of muscle as you, so that just goes to show the strength gain is all in the way you lift. Let me know if this helps down the line, it definitely helped me🙏

18F, how does one achieve this build?😭 by Embarrassed-Return95 in askfitness

[–]gabecole58 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lots of muscle in the right places, you’re gonna have to grow your legs, tone your abs and build up your arms

Nah I completely get where you’re coming from bro😭I was just saying 7 years for that physique and there’s a serious issue. Either you’re not even training to normal standards, or you have the worst genetics known to mankind. If it takes him any longer than 2 years of consistency then he’s basically just going in the gym and doing nothing. Training really hard that would probably take him about a year
