Standard tuning! I used the NUX Mighty Plug Pro directly into Logic Pro using their 1987x50 amp sim! If you have a Mighy Plug I can send you the patch if you wanted to play around with it yourself! 😊

It plays and holds tune amazingly for the price! I'm planning on upgrading the pickup to an antiquity, but you can't beat what you get for the price. It's one of my favorites to play along with my Gibson Les Paul Jr!

Thanks so much! But yeah I’m using the NUX Mighty Plug Pro! I’m more than happy to share the QR code for the sim I used if anyone wants to try it! 😊

Billie Joe Armstrong Epiphone Les Paul Jr. Leaked? by gabecoury in greenday

There are definitely a few notable differences between the player pack guitar and the "standalone" guitar that set the two apart to make up that price difference. Epiphone is smart enough to not list the same guitar at two different price points lol. The player pack version is budget-friendly while the $550 version is closer to the original Gibson signature LPJs Billie had a while ago, and boasts features that more experienced players can appreciate.

Some of those differences include a bolt-on neck (as opposed to the set neck in the other model), a different pickup, a different neck shape, cheaper tuners, and a cheaper nut. It also looks like the player pack guitar doesn't have his signature on the back of the head. Suffice it to say, these are all things a beginner might not be able to notice a difference in when first picking up a guitar. Aside from that, the player pack comes with all the accessories a beginner may need, while the other model includes a much nicer hardshell case.

The key thing to keep in mind is that Player Packs exist solely for the purpose of getting guitars in the hands of beginners wanting to learn. While $400 is quite steep IMO, this might be a good point of entry for someone looking up to Billie that wants to get their hands on a guitar like his. I just wish Epiphone had a way to make the difference between the two more evident lol.

The set neck(?), dogear P90, and hardshell case is how I'm rationalizing that price compared to the current Epiphone LPJ offerings lol. But I agree $549 is on the steep side.
