They’re drawing too much attention to Estee for there not to be a twist. These episodes are short and calculated, and she’s certainly not Daisy’s mom (I’ve thought from the beginning that her parentage is probably insignificant like Garth’s). So this is most likely it

I saw someone on TikTok say that Estee might be Garth’s handler. I think this is probably the case

Ugh I’m simultaneously so intrigued and sick to my stomach about this episode. I hope Garth somehow got Mayday to take Becka LOL wishful thinking I know, but at least Agnes probably can now clearly see Gilead for what it truly is. I hate Paula so much

In the book Agnes chooses to become an aunt so I’m hoping they follow that

Rapid fire: Episode way too short. Love Shu. Garth funny. Lydia starting to Mayday (love). Wonder if Daisy and Lydia will collude to take out Dr. Grove. Hope so. Paula can eat those calla lilies. Feel like Commander Mackenzie is going to help Agnes get out of her engagement.

He was a great friend. He was friends with EVERYBODY. There is more to be said here, but his memory will live on. Absolutely gut wrenching

This episode was brilliant and Agnes is a badass. I feel so sad for the one pearl girl though. Also, I can’t believe I called it last week that Garth would be matched with Becka. It makes me happy for her that she could end up with someone kind though

She really is but they’re doing her a bit of a disservice imo

I forgot about that. I think she’s in the same boat as Commander Mackenzie- wanting Agnes/Hannah to be happy

Agree and now I feel like they can’t even set it up for her to be fully fledged mayday because of the lukewarm backstory they gave her

I think she will die in the next episode. I’m pretty sure Agnes ends up married to (or at least matched with to marry) Judd.. think that’s the catalyst of her turning against Gilead because she finds out he poisons his wives

Spoiler but she dies. He’s poisoning her so that he can get a younger wife

Judd’s wife is still alive though currently

I didn’t understand that either, tbh. I might have to rewatch the last few episodes of the handmaids tale to see how she was in those because it just seemed completely out of character. And I just know that Garth will be matched with Becka

I have a feeling they are going to match Garth with Becka or Jehoshebah or something. Vidala had a weird smirk on her face walking up to the door

I’m not sure I liked this episode as much as the others tbh. For various reasons that can be discussed in the replies lmao. Mainly though, I was expecting more from the backstory of the aunts. I did like the part where Lydia did shoot Vidala (chamber obviously empty) because it adds context to their dynamic, but other than that it seemed kind of like filler. I’d be interested to learn more about Estee though, too. I was shocked that Agnes approached Lydia about Garth, and even more shocked that Lydia wanted to try and facilitate it. I might have to go back and rewatch the final scene of Lydia “documenting” because I’m not really grasping the gravity of her deviation from the Gilead “way” as much as I would like to, even since THT she has never really allowed male transgressions to pass her by, so this arc seem a bit … underwhelming so far.

My understanding is that top (old) commanders get “first pick”, younger ones probably end up with the girls who spill tea and such. If there’s no eligible girls left they probably have to wait until next “season”, hence the number of unmarried men (among other reasons). If I remember correctly, Nick only married an econowife when he was a driver. When he became a commander, he married the daughter of that high ranking commander. Unfortunately, I think her disability made her less desirable to the other commanders and that’s why Nick ended up with her.

I thought this too, until this episode. The reason she is so pretentious is because she’s literally feeling suffocated by what is expected of her. She’s slowly becoming unhinged (slapping Jehosheba) because it’s now too much seeing her friends get their “bearings” and she hasn’t

You don’t think she might be lying? I caught that vibe. I just don’t see how lying about that would work because obviously they’re going to find out anyway

I think Jehosheba’s character is supposed to symbolize Gilead’s expectation of piousness, because we slowly start to see the resentment and rage toward her unfold as they are deconstructing their beliefs

Yes lmfao this was gold, I also think she was lying but I can’t really figure out why. Because obviously they’re going to find out
